skhm28 Posted November 17, 2011 ID:495492 Share Posted November 17, 2011 Hi,My PC has developed a nasty bug.I am unable to connect to the Internet. When I start the PC the START bar does not appear. It takes ages to start up. Malware bytes will not start and shows an error "run time error 372" plus ref to a version file vbalsgrid6.ocx being outdated.I cannot check my NIC card settings because the Network icon does not show up.Have tried to run MWB off a USB drive which runs after showing the above error message but finds nothing. Have run Glary Utilities in SAFE mode, but that found only bad shortcuts.Have downloaded DDS and run the script however only the dds.txt file shows up.Can you advise me if there is some process to follow to find the attach.txt file? Staff screen317 Posted November 22, 2011 Staff ID:497090 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.Please do the following:Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very importantAfter the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from hereNote: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro versionLaunch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.
