Well I have been running Malwarebytes 2008 and I have never had UAC turned on it's one of the first things I turn off cause it gets in the way
However I am willing to reinstall and turn it on but I can't do it right now the computer is a family computer and if it locks up again over the weekend they will kill me!
However it does look like you have other reports of this issue so it's not just me.. so that's a plus

I no longer have that version installed as I said I downgraded to the previous version but here is your zip
-
about 2 hours ago I checked for an application update under settings the application tab found an update and installed it after it installed my computer started hard freezing
over and over again I then uninstalled the Malware bytes all together and the freezes went away ... so I reinstalled Malwarebytes and the freezes came back
I downgraded to the version before the update and everything in fine now
attached is a screenshot of my about screen when i was running the problem update
the only difference between that and what i'm running now is the component package
-
This could also happen if you run ANY antivirus there also capable of sending out a bad update all that was needed was what that post above me said
or just uncheck web protection.. or uncheck run at startup and reboot and wait for a fix
-
I had to disable the start with windows option and reboot to get my system back
-
my license has been fixed by email
I know about the Malwarebytes account login thing but when I login to it at https://my.malwarebytes.com/en/login it tells me This account has no orders
i have emailed several times to have my order added to my my.malwarebytes.com But no luck
-
So the only way to prevent this particulate issue is to deactivate your license before upgrading right?
-
Anytime. Thanks for the support

email sent and Support Ticket #2051122 (didn't realize a new thread was made)

your right downgrading achieved nothing.... email sent

I'm getting the exact same error with 3.2.2 ..and I have a lifetime license should i downgrade to the previous version
-
I had the same issue,, i stopped the scan and restarted the scan and it completed in 5 minutes
seems to randomly get stuck on a file but i can't reliably reproduce it
-
MBAMService.exe is correct once it hits the scan memory it spikes to 100%
-
None currently just Malwarebytes 3.06
-
uninstalled 3.0.5 first and then proceeded to install 3.0.6
-
also just noticed during 4pm scheduled scan I was running Pandora and the audio got choppy due to CPU being at 100%
-
just tried again as per your request the manual scan that was minimized when it got to the scan memory part it spiked up to 100% and stayed there
also tried it as a scheduled scan which was not open at all same result this is windows 7 if it matters
-
it wasen't open so to speak it was a scheduled scan,,, so it was running in the background as process
-
I updated to 3.06 per your suggestion and the only thing I see that's troublesome is the fact that it uses 100% CPU during scan I read that this was only during a manual scan
so I tested that by setting up a scheduled scan and seeing what it did during a scheduled scan but the CPU usage was still 100% during the scheduled scan
wish there was still an option like there was in 2x to lower CPU usage

specifically
- Microsoft Security Essentials running alongside Malwarebytes 3.0 might cause system lockdowns under Windows 7 due to a buggy Microsoft update.
-
3.0.5.1299 has apparently been release to the automatic update server So I assume most of the bugs have been resolved congratulations
I could just update to 3.0.6 but I'll wait till it hits the update server as well
has the compatibility with MS Security essentials been resolved?
Anyway Congrats on a seemingly stable update
-
I don't believe version 3 is on the update server yet.. there still working the kinks out I think
-
no AV installed at all. I uninstalled Microsoft Security essentials when I installed MB 3 because its supposed to work as a Antivirus also or so I read.. and it's Windows 7
I figure MB3 isn't completely baked yet cause there not putting it on the update server yet like they have done for other versions
-
tried multiple scans cpu usage still went to 100% during scan
