  1. Yes, we all have a friend like this. I couldn't resist commenting. I have a friend with whom I've lost contact through the years and distance, and she used to use the term "not playing with a half-baked loaf." It was a crack-up as she didn't quite realize what she had said or meant, but it became a standing joke for years. Thanks for the laugh. I needed that! :):)

One of my favorites is, "The light's are on but nobody's home." Or, "She (he) is not the brightest bulb in the string."

  2. Fortunately I wake up. :)

The first thing I read in the newspaper every morning, rain or shine, is the obituaries; If I don't see my name there I know it's going to be a GOOD day after all. :)

    Shameless.. I know.. Just couldn't resist. :)

Off to bed.. late night (early morning??) Computer became unstable around midnight and wound up doing a system restore from the WinUpdate this AM. That means I'm back to 1.44 until I get a chance to do another 1.45 install.

G'night all.. see you after the morning obits..

    ....Maybe.

  3. malwarebytes found this in this file:Hijack.DisplayProperties

    Registry Data Items Infected:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> No action taken.

is it safe to let malwarebytes remove this? wanted to check first

Don't touch it. Just a normal display - NOT really infected..

  4. Hi folks,

Looks to have several nice features/improvements:

    1. Quick scan speed faster by 20-25%

    2. Really like real-time updating feature.

    3. A bit doubtful about new/old logos both used- Will GUI get a "facelift"?

Congrats MBAM, looking forward to using this.

Definite increase in speed; especially like the "FLASH" scan feature. No lockups or crashes so far; it updated properly. I like... Would be nice to see a bit "flashier" GUI.. or more contrast to it. You definitely have a superior product.. needs a superior, professional looking interface. :) AMD dual core at 2.6ghz with WinVista32 with all updates and 3 gigs memory for speed comparisons with the product.

    Nice job guys (and gals??)

  5. Yep. Right here. I got mine off zaggle.

I think FireFox 3.6.2 has a scripting bug. I use NOSCRIPT (and allow this site) and ABP and three options in the BB editor (INSERT IMG, LINK, EMAIL) don't work with 3.6.2 so I had to go back and find an older version, 3.5.8 as I had already deleted 3.6.0 that was working. 3.6.2 also seems to be a CPU hog.. *sigh* 3.5.8 allows me to use those insert buttons.

  6. Good news, my check has been found. Everything has been sorted out and I'm taking python. :) That was an ordeal. :)

GREAT news Buttons - glad to see it got resolved.

    Enjoy your classes.

We have thousands and thousands of pythons in the Florida Everglades - Want one as kind of a study partner??

    *ROTFLMAO*

Enjoy, my friend.. I'm on the downside; every day I remember less and less. Nice to see someone is going to learn more and more... :)

  7. Well shy, u still can't beat me :)

Cause I've trained my stomach to withstand that 2 minute, half-raw porridge consisting 70% water sometimes. It's really fast but the first months of accustoming is total hell :)

Why, THAT sounds like "gruel" and unusual punishment! :) :) :) :)

  8. Greetings and welcome to Malwarebytes :)

Yes, according to the EULA, the free version is only for personal use, not for corporate, educational or use in a tech shop environment. For use in any of those scenarios a Corporate License or Technician's License must be purchased. [...]

You might be interested in this tidbit; when I called SAMS CLUB extended warranty help line and finally started talking with a tech about my computer problem, the FIRST thing she suggested was to come here and download MBAM, then run a scan with it. :)

That's how I found out about MBAM; scan found one trojan and two traces - wasn't my problem, "problem" though, but... - and I bought a license the next day... Been happy ever since. And I am continually amazed at the speedy responses on the Forums as well as the accurate pool of knowledge.

  9. YOKENNY, not to be rude, but: [...]

Ever notice that "but" is a qualifier that one is indeed going to do what one said "Not to be?"

Hmmmm... now that was really none of my business so I'll stay out of it, "but..

Com'on now.. SMILE.. and the world smiles with ya!

It'll be fixed.. eventually.. just not in THIS release. 'sides, MalwareBytes is a walk in the park compared to Norton or McAfee..

  11. Ummmm.. have I been banned from using the INSERT LINK, INSERT IMAGE, and INSERT EMAIL LINK because of my coupon posting last night?? They no longer work for me in the message editor. I explained I was sorry and made every attempt to get someone to delete the post.. I finally deleted the attachment to get rid on it.

EDIT: Turned out to be a problem concerning FireFox 6.0.2; never mind..

  12. Hello and welcome to Malwarebytes....

Follow the instructions in Section A item 4 LOCATED HERE to update the Malwarebytes program. Once you update it run another quick scan and remove any infections found. Restart computer and double check by running one more quick scan, and also see if you can now update it.

Come back if you need more help.

    Hi Firefox,

He's right on one point; the program download definitions ARE way out of date when it's first installed. Couldn't Malwarebytes run a chron job (or similar automated file on whatever system the server runs on) that refreshes the program download file with one with the most up-to-date definitions on a nightly basis.. or it's not too much of a load, update the download file every time the definition file updates? Not trying to start trouble, just seems like a really good idea. Maybe you could pass the idea along to the right people??:lol:

Thanks for listening.. err.. ahh.. reading!

  13. YoKenny1, do you think i am some kind of fool? I have visited & lived in countries all over the globe with my work & for enjoyment. In your post you are inferring I am some kind of cretin who has just acquired internet access yesterday. Just because I have only posted a few times on this forum does not mean I am not a regular poster/moderator on other forums with very cosmopolitan member lists. I have been on the net since just about day one. I yet have to see which post(s) you found or anyone else for that matter found offensive - Please point them/it out to me.

    [...] Bun'cha of blah blah [...]

I forecast this issue regarding speed is not going away & Malwarebytes will have to take note & sort this issue shortly because as we say in the United Kingdom,
