  1. @1PW Thank you very much for the above website!!! It was very helpful.
  2. Thank you! I was able to download from that web address, and then enter the product key. All Real Time Protection is ON. Thank you...
  3. Something else I happened to notice is the Java file on my laptop is 6 update 25, and I believe Java is currently at 8 update 144. I had some updating software (within the last 2 months- maybe it was Avast free) that tried to update Java, and nothing happened. At this time, I'd download from majorgeeks.com or where ever I was sent me. I'm guessing since I have a 64 bit laptop, I would need to download a 64 bit Sun Java..right?
  4. The mb download failed. The mb-clean-results.txt file is attached. mb-clean-results.txt
  5. One thing when I got to Anti-Malware folder, there was no mbam.exe, but there was an mbam which I right clicked on. The mbam file Type was an Application. At any rate, any help to get the Malware Protection to turn ON is much appreciated.
  6. Thank you so much for the reply! I wasn't sure how to Remove hkey, but I did complete the following steps you laid out. When I got to the Compatibility Tab, since nothing was checked off there was nothing for me to uncheck. So I clicked Cancel. Just prior to responding here I checked to see if MB3 ran its daily Threat scan, and it had. I also noticed on the Dashboard that the Malware Protection is OFF, and I don't seem to be able to turn it on. I do click on it, but it stays OFF. Any help with this would be much appreciated. p.s. I guess one possible way to check if MB3 real time protection is on is to check the Dashboard.
  7. I deleted a few lines from my original post since it didn't add anything and made it confusing. I believe the mb-check-results.zip is correct. Does anyone have any ideas why this would use up so much of the cpu? And if I were to reinstall it, would I uninstall first? Any help is much appreciated.
  8. I had cpu usage from 35%-43% with a few Google windows up and was wondering what was causing the seemingly high usage. One by one, I turned off then back on, the antivirus (Avast Free), windows firewall, and MB 3. When I turned off the Real Time Protection of MB3, a window displayed "Do you allow this program to modify your computer?" ( I generally only get this window when I am installing software on my laptop). I clicked "Yes". After I turned it back on, there was another window that stated, in essence, this program may have been modified. It needs to be reinstalled. I don't really want to reinstall MB3 unless necessary. I have a few questions: 1.) How do I test/prove to myself that all functions of MB3 are working properly? 2.) Is there an easy way to turn MB 3 on and off? For Privatefirewall - on the home page, there is a red light, green light, and yellow light. The light that is on - signifies the current state of the application. Clicking on one of the other lights changes the state of the application. Maybe there is an obvious way for MB3 and I just missed it. 3.) It was MB3 that was causing the cpu usage. Is there anyway to decrease cpu usage and yet have MB 3 functioning properly? The following is the text/error message I got from attempting to upload the results file after running FRST and MB-Check. There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200 The above message did not display this last time I attempted an upload. Thanking you in advance for any help. Toshiba Portege R835-p56x Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit Internet Explorer 11 mb-check-results.zip
