  1. Using Chrome and following the link I get this
  2. Thanks MKDB but I only have option of run or save the file "latest.json" when follow the link. Cannot open or run the file with any programme I have. How did you get what you have?
  3. With both the Win 10 PC and Win 7 laptop I get a file "latest.json"
  4. Still same number of FPS. Not the latest database still. # AdwCleaner 7.0.1.0 - Logfile created on Tue Jul 25 06:33:33 2017 # Updated on 2017/05/08 by Malwarebytes # Database: 07-16-2017.1 # Running on Windows 7 Professional (X64) # Mode: scan # Support: https://www.malwarebytes.com/support AdwCleaner_Debug.log
  5. Now has OKAY and RESET but some text inside frame is missing.
  6. No proxy set up. Previous versions of Adwcleaner did not have any issues updating.
  7. Update re Win 10. The tools/options alterations do stick except the delete tracing keys and reset winsock "options" which keep reappearing. In version 6 these could be unticked permanently.
  8. The Win 10 PC has a similar issue re database not updating but can set the tools/options. Here is the debug log. AdwCleaner_Debug.log
  9. And the debug selection does not stick as mentioned in I select it but then programme reverts straight away to "normal" mode. Cannot access the debug mode.
  10. Hi @fr33tux, the reference is mine but as I couldn't manage a screen shot I put it in this forum. Yes the screen display is set to 125% and screen resolution is 1920 X 1080 .
  11. Version 7.0.0.0 is having database update issues. This database loaded at 07:41 Sunday which finds no problems. # AdwCleaner 7.0.0.0 - Logfile created on Sun Jul 23 07:41:17 2017 # Updated on 2017/17/07 by Malwarebytes # Database: 07-23-2017.2 # Running on Windows 7 Professional (X64) # Mode: scan # Support: https://www.malwarebytes.com/support This is the database loaded after the above run at 07:45 Sunday and is using an earlier database which finds many FP's. (185 all related to Spyblaster) # AdwCleaner 7.0.0.0 - Logfile created on Sun Jul 23 07:45:02 2017 # Updated on 2017/17/07 by Malwarebytes # Database: 07-16-2017.1 # Running on Windows 7 Professional (X64) # Mode: scan # Support: https://www.malwarebytes.com/support What is going on? Previous v 6 had no issues like this.
  12. Here is a screen shot of the win 7 tools/options window with no OKAY or RESET buttons.
  13. The latest version 7 tools/options changes are not sticking. With Win 7 the tools/options window does not have an "Okay" or "Reset" button and any changes made dont even stick for the immediate scan ie the delete tracing keys and reset the Winsock cannot be changed even though the ticks can be removed, but as soon as the options window is closed and then reopended the ticks are back. The Win 10 tools/options window does have the "Okay" and "Reset" buttons and it sticks for the immediate scan but when Adwcleaner is closed and then reopened the options are back to default. All earlier versions had no problem.
  14. Thanks @1PW for your reply however I don't see this as a fault in Mbam. I believe mbam worked exactly as intended when it closed Outlook. I am asking
  15. I am using mbam3. Recently while I was in Outlook and browsing an email, the exploit protection module activated and mbam3 shut down Outlook as I added it to the protected list. I was most grateful for the intervention preventing me from opening the email. However I then had a problem that every time I tried to open outlook mbam immediately shut it down as Outlook is set to open at the inbox on opening and of course the offending email. So I had to stop the exploit protection module to be able to access Outlook. This defeats the purpose of the exploit protection for Outlook. Does anyone have suggestions about the merits of removing Outlook from the custom list to avoid this issue or is there an alternative I can’t see which is not cumbersome like reinstalling a back up Outlook PST file? 16. @dcollins if I shut down and don't boot up for over 24 hrs the issue occurs otherwise it works as it should with regular updates etc. I could set the scheduled scan to occur more often and set the missed by to a shorter time frame and see if that triggers a boot time scan which appears to initiate the error.
  17. Thanks @dcollins what happened was I had not turned the PC on for over 24 hrs. So some five minutes after booting up the MBAM alert appeared - the database is not current appeared. I deliberately did not manually update but waited to see what would happen. The scan did not run for a few hours or so after this. I was expecting the out of date icon to disappear either by the program checking for updates hourly (which it is set to do) or at least the scan, but it did not. The relevant scan report indicated it used an update which was not current as after I manually updated the update package version immediately altered and the out of date icon which was showing up till then disappeared . I had a similar issue with the laptop as well and it was fixed when I disabled the warn me when updates are older than 24 hrs. Checking the update package status manually confirmed the updates are indeed current. I will check again with the laptop and turn on the alert and see if the update packages do update with the alert on or revert back to waiting for manual intervention.
  18. Thanks @Porthos but I had already checked and it was checked! Hence my puzzlement when the scan did not remove the database not current icon. Here are the logs requested by @1PW. PS some personally identifiable data in the following reports has been replaced with *****. FRST.txt Addition.txt mb-check-results.zip MB REPORT.txt
  19. Malwarebytes 3.1.2.1733 correctly reports that the database is not current after 24 hrs. So once the scheduled scan runs I would expect that the data base should be current as it is set to update the database prior to scans. However MBAM still reports the data base is not current after the scheduled scan has run. Running the update manually works okay but why not with the scan? Isn’t this an anomaly?
  20. Thanks @pbust or @respinoza for further clarification about the mb-clean tool What do I need to know before running mb-clean.exe? Warning: although it automatically backs up and injects the license key, it's recommend you backup or obtain the licensing information before running the tool in order to restore paid version Warning: we also recommend deactivating the product before running the tool. Refer to the links under "Helpful Resources" for detailed instructions If there is a chance that a licence is not deactivated correctly, by the mb-clean tool as seems to be suggested, why is this hidden? How many folks would read all the way through to discover this rider in a hidden section?
  21. Agree. With Win 10 - every time I run the mbae test a popup dialogue appears as per @clower_element .
  22. May I suggest that the wording in the Malwarebytes mb-clean tool post is amended to include the word "deactivate" in the following "A prompt with an option to clean up the system will appear: Yes - will proceed with deactivating and backing up the license key (Malwarebytes 3.x only) and initiating the cleanup process No - will exit the utility"
  23. Thanks to all for clarifying that mb-clean does deactivate the licences etc. That is good news and is a really handy and useful functionality. When I read that it will "automatically backup Malwarebytes licence key" I thought it would simply copy the key and not deactivate.
  24. @respinoza in the post /Posted February 28 (edited) does the mb-clean tool deactivate the licence? From my reading of your post mb-clean only saves the licence info and then reactivates the licence. If it does not deactivate then it would be important to add that instruction in your post.
