  1. Here are logs from the Windows 10 system. I also ran the support tool normally and it clean installed Malwarebytes but did not resolve the problem. mbst-grab-results-win10.zip mbst-grab-results-win10.zip
  2. I have Malwarebytes 4.6.4.286 installed on both a Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 system. On both systems, Malwarebytes appears to cause significant slowdowns and lockups when Windows PowerToys is installed. Other programs run very slowly or lag, and Windows Explorer will occasionally freeze or crash. I originally thought it was an issue with just the latest version of Windows PowerToys (0.74.1), but I tried 2 older versions of the software (0.74.0 and 0.73.0) and the slowdowns/lockups are still there. Task Manager shows significant CPU and power usage from the Malwarebytes Service (more so on Windows 10). I tried to work around this by putting PowerToys on the Allow list in Malwarebytes, but it doesn't consistently prevent the system from slowing down or locking up. The issue has already been reported to Microsoft on their page for Windows PowerToys, but I'm not sure if Malwarebytes is aware of this.
  3. Made the stupid mistake of installing PDFCreator which has a known adware component. Fortunately, Malwarebytes stopped the install of the "SEStub.exe" application and I can run the app with no problems. I've uninstalled PDFCreator however because it caused Malwarebytes to go off and just want to make sure it's completely gone. The alert was for PUP.Optional.Monetize - I'm not sure if it does anything else other than spam ads and install toolbars. Does it have any other malicious components (e.g. password stealing stuff)? Ran scans with MBAM and Windows Defender after uninstalling PDFCreator - neither of them have picked up anything. FRST logs are below. FRST.txt Addition.txt Shortcut.txt
  4. Previous two topics: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/152116-bsod-kmode-exception-not-handled-and-irql-not-less-or-equal/ and https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/150710-mbam-2021012-bsods-kmode-exception-not-handled-and-irql-not-less-or-equal-on-a-truecrypt-partition/ OS: Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit I've pretty much done everything possible to try and fix this issue with BSODs when scanning any TrueCrypt partition, short of completely wiping and reinstalling the OS. I've used several free antivirus/antimalware solutions and found nothing. Logs attached. The 7-4 ones are from immediately after a system refresh, I installed MBAM and TrueCrypt on the computer and replicated the same BSOD I've been getting. 7-6 is from today, after reinstalling 8.1 and most of the programs on it. 5. This topic is a continuation of https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/150710-mbam-2021012-bsods-kmode-exception-not-handled-and-irql-not-less-or-equal-on-a-truecrypt-partition/ To summarize: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, running on a 2nd gen (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7 laptop. After reading the reply posted before the topic was locked, I decided to run multiple virus scanning/removal programs, including Windows Defender (as I am on Windows 8.1 Pro x64), AdwCleaner, HitmanPro, and Junkware Removal Tool. (I couldn't use ComboFix b/c that wasn't compatible with 8.1.) None of these tools detected an infection. I decided to try Windows 8.1's built-in refresh feature, basically resetting all programs and settings, but retaining my files and data. I installed TrueCrypt and MBAM 2.0.0.1012 and ran a Custom Scan with ART disabled in both the settings panel and in the options before running a custom scan. BSOD again, same error. Today, after reinstalling most of my programs and fixing settings here and there, I installed MBAM 2.0.0.1012 and ran it again. Still gets a BSOD. I've tried replicating this error on other versions of Windows (Windows 7 x32 and x64, Windows 8 x32, and Windows 8.1 x32 and x64) in VirtualBox, installing only Windows Updates, TrueCrypt, and MBAM. The BSOD doesn't occur on virtual hardware. I have no access to any physical computers to try and replicate this on other Windows versions. Attachments: FRST/mbam-check logs from 7-4 which is immediately after refresh; 7-6 which is today after restoring most drivers and programs. I have the full memory dumps but can't attach them here b/c they are 600+ MB in size. FRST 7-6.txt Addition 7-6.txt CheckResults 7-6.txt FRST 7-4.txt Addition 7-4.txt CheckResults 7-4.txt
  6. So far I haven't run a chkdsk or anything like that on the system. Should I go and do that?
  7. Running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with MBAM free 2.0.2.1012. Whenever I try to scan a TrueCrypt container, it produces a BSOD (usually KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, but I've had IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL show up too). I've tried the following: - Disabled rootkit scanning in the options - still pops up a BSOD - Used mbam-clean twice and reinstalled MBAM - still causes BSOD to appear Here's the FRST logs and some memory dumps from the crashes. Right now I do not have MBAM installed, if needed I can reinstall it. crashes.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt
