  1. Hi there! Throughout the past few months, I've had problems running my Win7 Professional 64-bit PC rig properly. The problem showed as intermittent freezing of the whole operating system every now and then, let's say once in an hour or so, for around 5-15 min at a time. Meaning; I can't click on anything from the task bar, the mouse cursor turns into the spinning circle (as in; waiting, waiting ...); everything that I click on or type is stored in some kind of a buffer that then gets "released" after the clog re-opens. I am running ESET Internet Security 2018 (the latest version; 12.0.27.0) as well as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium (the latest version as well; 3.6.1.2711) I have gone thru the problem on ESET's forums as well; https://forum.eset.com/topic/15962-eset-internet-security-updates-hang-up-as-well-as-sites-like-windows-update/?_fromLogin=1 Sorting out different possibilities within the last few months and I've indeed realized that it's ESET Internet Security 2018 and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro/Premium conflicting with each other. Turning off Malwarebytes actually solved the problem altogether. However, I went thru Malwarebytes' website to see all the listed components of MBAM that should be added to i.e. ESET's exclusion list, and that did NOT solve the problem. Now as I'm running Malwarebytes again, the freeze-up problem has also returned as usual. Disabling MBAM = no problems, no freeze-ups. The two software used to work just fine together before this summer. I've tried googling up the ESET+MBAM combo and potential pitfalls and tried to check that I've got them all in order. These problems didn't start until the autumn of this year, however. Before that, I had been running ESET+MBAM side by side without any problems. So, since I already have the exclusion list done, is there any certain modules in ESET that should NOT be enabled while MBAM is also running? I can't reply to the original thread on ESET's forums [see link above in this post] since the thread has been closed (and I did not receive any messages of anyone actually replying to me), and now I'm wondering what should I do next. The thing is that ESET and MBAM both detect i.e. realtime web threats differently. Throughout the past few years, both of the programs have caught up with potential threats in time, sometimes it's been MBAM, sometimes it's been ESET that has caught the lurking culprit. So, I really wouldn't want to start disabling real-time protection features too heavily. All help is kindly appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Good night dear. For some time I have been experiencing compatibility issues between Kaspersky Internet Security and MBAM Premium. Every time KIS does the rootkit check, it disables real-time web protection and I have to close and restart MBAM to get back to normal. Today, when I checked the KIS reports (attached image), I noticed that it has been blocking some Task Manager and MBAM tasks (for example, reading memory from other processes, duplicating the internal processors, executing code injection). Is there a problem with my computer? Sorry for English, but I did a direct translation from Portuguese.

  5. Hello, If I choose Custom Scan on C:\ drive and check the option Scan for Rootkits, MBAM stops scanning and stop responding even if I click on cancel, the only way to stop the task is rebooting the computer This issue is very old, I haven't never finish a Custom Scan on C:\ drive checking the option Scan for Rootkits I am impatient? Or MBAM has still issues with this type of scan? Thanks Came

  7. Hello, I have been trying to resolve an issue I have been having with MalwareBytes for the last couple weeks now. Every time I run a scan it will go through the normal process until it starts trying to scan through the Program Data files, and then the service will stop working. I have tried reinstalling MBAM a few times with no luck. I was able to run ADWcleaner with no issues. I ran the scans I saw in previous forums and have attached them to the thread. Also include in the file is a screen shot of the error. Thank you for your help, Victor mb-check-results.zip

    Integrate AdwCleaner into MBAM

Hey, huge fan over here, have been using mbam since version 1.2x ! I also like adwcleaner a lot and thought this acquisition made much sense, but what about you integrate AdwCleaner into MBAM so that they are one program?
  9. Where are the logs for MBAM for Mac stored? (the file path/directly location)
  10. I'm running three PCs with licensed lifetime standalone MBAM 2.2.1.1043 Premium and standalone MBAE which apparently updated itself to v1.12.1.37 on 3/8/18. Unfortunately this MBAE update broke Firefox 58.0.2 on all three of our PCs. Most of the time Firefox will start to launch but will stop before it has finished loading the toolbar and will just sit there. I see from the beta forum that this update has been problematic for other people as well. On one PC I uninstalled MBAE and have not reinstalled it yet. Now the MBAM icon also no longer shows up in the task bar. When I manually launch MBAM the splash screen shows 'no protection' in the Real-time Protection field. In settings both Malware Protection and Malicious Website Protection are enabled. Why is real-time protection not turning on? I tried re-entering my license ID and my Key but that made no difference. Should I deactivate and re-activate my license for MBAM to regain real-time protection? Thanks!

    MBAM is magic?

Hello, MBAM tray icon is appearing and disappearing like magic!! Why?? Thanks Came
  12. My PC was recently stricken down whilst watching youtube videos, resulting in my PC (windows 7) becoming trapped in a never ending nor successful boot or repair loop. After trying the automatic repair, system restore (no restore points) and booting in safe mode all unsuccessfully, my PC then simply started showing me a "windows failed to load" screen with mbamswissarmy.sys being the alleged perpetrator. I've been looking into this a lot the last couple of days, so I went ahead and used FRST on my broken pc via flash drive. Literally any morsel of help would be YUGELY appreciated, and my frst log is attached. FRST.txt
  13. My malwarebytes satrted to hog ALL of my memory, over 10GB and rising, soon hunderds of GB's and i have 8 for RAM. It doesn't want to scan, it doesn't want to enable real time protection anymore AND it auto starts itself every time i shut it down. It's literally become malware itself, what the censored is this? I am thinking about switching to Kaspersky soon if these error come up all the time. This isnt the first time this happens and certainly not what I pay for. Last time the only solution was to reinstall windows completely. I am not doing that again. Please help it was working last night. I am on windows 10 and no other anti viruses software is running. When clicking on MY ACCOUNT in the MBAM app it freezes and I cant even enter my license. Please help?

  17. Hi all, running Mbam Premium version 3.3.1.2183 on Windows 10 Home version 1709 OS build 16299.125 64bit. Just now I decided to run an extra manual scan, and noticed that it was running in free mode, with all real-time ability obviously disabled. For how long? I have no idea. It could have been in free mode for weeks, I have no idea. But I had definitely entered my license details when I set up this particular Windows 10 partition instance, which was from memory 2 months ago, and was definitely running the paid, activated form last time I checked. That is concerning if, for whatever reason, mbam 3 decides to silently revert to a free version without warning. I've never seen this before, and so I've trusted mbam3 lately to be basically set and forget, until the paid version gives me any sort of notification, which means I don't interact with mbam3 at all unless I get notifications. But of course I wasn't getting any, as mbam3 slipped quietly out of its premium activated state and into free version. Also, two other issues. Upon reactivating mbam3, I decided to do a manual scan (as planned). Nothing detected at all, which is good, but the CPU hit was high, in excess of 70% CPU usage throughout. At 70% usage, that is enough to stall everything else on my machine, and makes it impractical to do anything other than the scan. Lastly, I had trouble turning on real-time web protection at first, but it seems to be sticking for now. This is just a general report of these issues. I am aware of all the other steps that I can take (logs etc) to give to tech support, but I'm tired right now, and so am just putting this up as a first step to see what everyone else says. Thanks - Justin
  18. I have used MalwareBytes for years, I am even an Affiliate (1967). Today I noticed that my product (Premium) was uninstalled. I attempted to run using the Start, RUN command and MBAM to get started. Nothing. Not listed in Programs either. Desktop shortcut, Gone! I downloaded the Free Version and it picked up my licence and upgraded by free version to Premium. It needed to be updated, The last scan report is from August. I know for a fact this was running properly last week. Can anyone provide an explanation? Thanks, MH
  19. Hi everyone! This is only my second post ever on this forum, and I am not very experienced when it comes to antiviruses and antimalware. My question is, is Malwarebytes Free (for me, it is version 3.3.1) good enough to protect my computer on its own? Should I upgrade to premium or download another antivirus?
  20. Hi I have a paid version of MBAM 3.1.2.1733 on my W10 64 machine, and just recently I have noticed that it appears to be getting unistalled when I reboot my laptop. I have Kaspersky as my antivirus which has not detected any problems on my laptop, so what is going on? When I see that it is gone from the desktop I check program files and it is not there any more. I do a search and all i find is the downloaded program and nothing else. Please help kwisj
  21. Hi! I recently updated windows 10 again which contained quite much. The problem i'm having now is that i get the warning pop-up: The problem is, that i have KAV as AV but using MBAM as my scanning software which i use once per month (nothing is activated on MBAM until i do the scan) So is it problem to remove this pop-up that keep warning me? Looks like this: Thanks in advance!
  22. I currently have the original Malwarebytes Anti-Malware tool for Mac installed on my macbook and want ti upgrade to the new Malwarebytes 3 for mac. The only issue is how should i approach the installation. When i open the MBAM app and upgrade through there, should i wait for Malwarebytes 3 to fully install before uninstalling the older MBAM app? Or can i still use both MBAM and the new Malwarebytes 3 with no interference, or is that a bit over the top? Is MBAM still receiving the same signature updates as Malwarebytes 3 or is it best to upgrade?
  23. Hi all, (apologies for my poor English, i'm french) A few years ago it was possible to automatically update database AND MBAM itself, why this is not allowed today ? It will be more secure and user friendly for Rookies (wich i'm not). I think thats not a good idea that we have a download redirection to CNET for MBAM, why not putting direct download links on your website ? Thanks Breizhspotlight PS : Sorry if my post is not in the right section...
  24. I think MBAM just got me a false positive result. After a threat scan it found that the registry \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run|Windows Update with data on C:\Users\wcwra\AppData\Local\Microsoft Windows|svchost.exe is a backdoor.bot,I went to the folder and it was empty, just a svchost.exe.config. backdoor.txt
  25. when I load up MBAM it brings up that my trial has ended, but i cannot click anything on the MBAM screen. I can go to the desktop behind it and click anything and it works perfectly. I have the MB-check results when needed. mb-check-results.zip
