  1. I split your topic because you posted to a known rogue topic and a very old one. You have been robbed in essence. Remove the program and demand your money back. Edit to add, be sure you stop payment on your credit card, and deny them access to it.
  2. Aww now I recognize him..LOL names are not my strong point but I never forget a face.
  3. It's kinda sad, they have a following of people who are just as clueless as they are. If they were so into security and testing etc. The would know who they were dealing with and that what they say does have credibility beyond being a member at Wilders. LOL It's just sad. If ignorance is bliss they are a happy bunch. me/waves at the new daddy.
  4. What I said was to run the System File Checker as in the tutorial and see if it helped you. Did you do that? If the file can't be found, you won't find it. Google is your friend http://www.dynamiclink.nl/htmfiles/rframes.../info_s/178.htm
  5. To the best of my knowledge, I386 is the folder you must point the registry key to. I have not used it on any SP3 machines. To start the system file checker you do as it is written in the tutorial. Go to Start > Run and type in sfcscannow and hit enter. Since this issue is resolved I will close the thread to prevent others from posting into it. If you need assistance please start your own topic and someone will be happy to assist you. The fixes and advice in this thread are for this machine only. Do not apply to your machine. Please start a thread of your own and someone will be happy to help you.
  6. Go to Downloads.com or Major Geeks download MBAM, update it run a quick scan. Then go http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 start your own topic post the MBAM log and a log from HiJack This! Running any special fix tool, is never the first step. @ EliteKiller please do not give malware removal advice here, you are not approved to do so.
  7. Log into each account and scan. Set the program to be usable by all users not just you.
  8. They really aren't bright enough to get it IMO. Bold mine. Marcin? Your a daddy?
  9. Hi OldDragon and welcome to Malwarebytes. Are you able to use another PC to download and copy the files to a CD then put them onto your PC? If you can use a friends machine to get MBAM on a CD and then to your machine you can possibly clean it enough to update MBAM again and scan then go to the HJT forum and post a HJT log and a MBAM log. Please run a quick scan of your main drive, usually C with MBAM making sure you check all items found for removal. Or try using this online scanner for free it may remove it. Then go here and run a scan PandaActive Scan There is a full tutorial on how to to this at the top of this forum. Post the logs from the Panda and MBAM scans please, along with a log from this program HiJack This! in the forum here .
  10. No you do not need a disk. That is why it is named System File Checker How To's How to run it with and without a Windows CD
  11. No action has been taken, and you won't get rid of anything unless you check the boxes and remove. melboy's suggestion to seek help in the HJT forum is good also.
  12. Sooz Avira cleaned the trojan it shows in the log. It was located in your system restore. If you had done as you say and implemented the prevention things I mentioned, they would show up in your HJT log, at least some would, and none do. There is no Spybot Search & Destroy, no WinPatrol and I'm betting you didn't install SpywareBlaster or a hosts file. you didn't reset System Restore or Avira woudn't have found a trojan there. In other words, you didn't do much you were advised. Here is my final advice to you. Turn on the root scan in Avira you have it off. Choose a secondary action for any found threats. Ignore is not a good one, choose repair, remove something. Don't try to fool the people that help you.

  20. You didnt remove anything every log shows no action taken. You will need to repeat the process. This time be sure that you have placed a check in the boxes for all items found and that you take action.
  21. Hi yes go ahead and run the tutorial, as I said before I don't think your issues are malware. Both logs are clean. I'll post some prevention advice, and if you need help with the other issue post to the PC Help forum, this allows more people to post to you and is the proper forum. Many infections can be avoided with an added layer of prevention. All recommended programs are free and easy on system resources. You should install them as part of your protection arsenal. Keep MBAM and Spybot Search & Destroy and always immunize SBS&D when you update. You will also need at least one other scanning program Asquared or SuperAntiSpyware are good and there are several other excellent programs with free and paid versions. Read the overviews of what each program below does so you have an understanding of their importance and how to use. A firewall and antivirus are also essential. The Windows firewall in XP and Vista is not sufficient. Preform Windows Updates monthly on the second Tuesday or use automatic updates, and use your scanners weekly at the least. Always update before you scan. Keep other software known for vulnerabilities updated also. Use the Secunia Inspector free scan to identify risks in outdated versions. SpywareBlaster from Javacool Software WinPatrol by BillPStudios SiteHound by FireTrust RogueRemover hpHosts The windows firewall is not sufficient to protect. It doesn't monitor outgoing traffic and this is a must. I use and recommend Online Armor Free Also the full protection of MBAM is offered at a very low price, from the link in my signature.
  22. Hi onlilife, please make your sister aware that here flashdrive is infected and should not be used until she gets it cleaned. Pardon my interruption Rorschach112, I didn't see where you had advised this.
  23. OK your router/modem is what is infected. Follow these instructions carefully. scan , disconnect , remove , reboot , scan , save report , reconnect , reboot , scan , save report Update MBAM again, scan a quick scan remove what is found, disconnect the ethernet cable, restart your computer, scan again, save the log. Reconnect the router/modem, reboot do another quick scan and post that log. This should clean you but you must follow the instructions exactly. I know it's a lot of connecting and rebooting but this is how we can clean the router/modem. You will never convince your ISP that you know the router/modem is infected. They won't listen and do what is needed.
