Problem Running Scan

As a longtime user of Malwarebytes, I have encountered a problem with running a scan. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate and it wasn't until about 10 to 14 days ago that I started having a hard time having a scan complete fully. It will start the scan, get about 125,000 files into the scan and then all of a sudden, a dialog box pops up and says that Malwarebytes is shutting down and cannot complete the scan.

I've tried updating the program, deleting the program and then re-installing it to NO AVAIL.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how I can get Malwarebytes up & running to the point of running a complete scan?
