i don't think that swirl is normal. could it be like a process is running and checking for something? it's when i click on certain things only.

Let's work on the below, before we move on to this.... :)

I see you have leftovers of Norton Internet Security. You can remove it from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Also, did you download and run UnHide.exe? See my previous post #26. Let me know if your Start menu items are back. Then we'll remove Java and install the latest version.

I suggest to remove Adobe Reader 9.1 via Add or Remove programs. Then install java and Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) the links are below:

http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Some final items:

  • Please press the Windows Key and R on your keyboard. This will bring up the Run... command.
  • Now type in Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. (Notice the space between the x and /)
    CF_Uninstall-1.jpg
  • Please follow the prompts to uninstall Combofix.
  • You will then recieve a message saying Combofix was uninstalled successfully once it's done uninstalling itself.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore again.

Let me know of any remaining issues with this PC?
