Fake MS Removal Tool Hijacker problem

My dekstop is now a blue screen and had many, many pop-ups appear.

It also took control of IE and wouldn't let it work properly.

rebooted into safe mode with networking and am running an MBAM scan.

That particular fake AV seems to be popping up quite a lot lately.

That's OK.

Since the "General" forum appears on the list in the Board Index before the Malware Removal forum, it's pretty common for newcomers to post here first.

Please take your time following the advice in the "I'm Infected" article, do the best you can, and be patient after starting your new topic at the Malware Removal forum.

Only authorized helpers are allowed to post there, and they are mostly volunteers, so it may be 24 hours or more before one is available.

A "0" reply count there is a helpful cue to the experts that you still await assistance.
