Trojan / Hijack problems

We have a Toshiba w/Vista computer. Currently experiencing issues. Am unable to access control panel. Can access internet and website if website is directly entered in. Unable to access malwarebytes to scan computer. Attempting to do so - the following warning pops up. WARNING! Application cannot be executed. The file mbam.exe is infected. Please activate your antivirus software.

Have been unable to download and run any type of programs as the warning appears that they have been infected as well.
