Shut down problem

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends,

I am a newbie here but i know that MalwareBytes is one of best anti_spyware tools on this planet.

At this time i am trying out the basic "on demand" version and i am facing a small problem :

When closing Windows i am encountering an interuption and an allert on "av-win.exe"-file.

I am not 100% sure about the "av" before the minus sign because the popup is flashing very quickly

and i don't succeed to create a print_screen during the shutdown. The Windows log does not tell me lot ...

After that i uninstall MalwareBytes + cleaning from left_overs in registry & deleting remaining files and folders

the problem is fixed r.a. and the shutdown of XP Home SP2 is proceeding fine again.

Has anybody got any idea what the reason of this problem could be ???

Thanks in advance for any comment on this subject.

Best regards

I'm not clear what your saying. You think the error message is from MBAM?

What does that mean? Do you have MBAM installed?

Hi Jean ,

Thanks for your kind reply.

Windows is showing event-id 1517 :

"Windows saved user %1 registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off"

Finaly i think the problem is not caused by MBAM but maybe by Diskeeper.

I changed DK settings in order not to defrag any more arround closing time.

Problem came up each time when installing/uninstalling MalwareBytes

and that is the reason why i was misleaded ...

Sorry that i pointed to MBAM in this post :)
