They seem to sell hardware products mostly for enterprise customers.

Fortinet also has a premium edition which includes a couple of extras like support and centralized management

Thinking about replacing Comodo with this. Any thoughts on this?

Its an OK security program, it's real power is in its URL guard to prevent malware. I submit many samples to them (I have a log of samples I submitted to them) and all of the were responded to and quickly added. Its a full suite and contains a firewall. The Firewall had some bugs last time I heard things about it but the next release quickly patched all the bugs as far as I am aware. Pretty good if you surf on the safe side.

Yeah if you submit it to their labs they should quickly add it. I think every sample I ever sent to them was added in the next update.

Cool. May do that. Just remembered their engine is on Virus Total.:) Which I guess didn't register me as the name was still available.:)

@malware destroyer

Comodo has some good products. I don't have anything against them, but the bickering back and forth regarding them supporting malware is making me change my mind. Nothing recent, but some points rather that make me want to stay out if it.:)

Not necessarily that. Mostly the certificate deal going around about them certifying known malware sites. I don't want to use Comodo products and possibly comment on my opinion if that ever comes around regarding those "rumors". Just rather stay out if it.:)

Okay, so far I'm really liking FortiClient alongside Privatefirewall, Mbam, Winpatrol and sandboxie. I feel like I'm still running a bit much. But I could just be paranoid.:) Any opinion on using FortiClient firewall or Privatefirewall? Should I drop Privatefirewall and go for all in one or rely on multiple products?

Hi Buttons!

Hey friend! Your out of my league. Sounds like your got it covered to me. I get by nicely; I think????, with Avira free--Online Armor Firewall free-- and MBAM running in real time.

Garybear PS MBAM cost me 26$ and it's good for life. I'm cheap. I really on WOT and I don't visit kid sites or porn sites :)

I may have some thing going on with my PC. I'm waiting for the Malware fighters to tell me if I have a problem. They must be busy. It's been 3 days!!

Hey.:)

Avira doesn't work here. Running a server based version of Windows. I would use it as I've been pleased with the results. So far I think I've found a good balance. Privatefirewall is about 6.50MB and the FortiClient's is about 247KB(I think). I think I'll look at it more later.:)

I always look out for Fortinet when i'm scanning files on VT :welcome: I was always confused why it never detected anything, i thought maybe it wasn't a conventional AV scanner, but then why have a presence on Virus Total. No, Fortinet has a poor database and poor heuristics and whatever it's strengths are it ain't in virus/malware detection. I cracked a bottle when it DETECTED something  Yeah it was 42/43 but hey. Of course the 1 that didn't get it was.....Comodo. No suprise there ;) Sorry guys, but i know all about the Hips (nothing new). You'll see.

Ah. Well, that's odd as it's for enterprise companies. Maybe that's why the are getting infected all the time.;) Most of the time clamav(awful database)and comodo seem to be on the same page for detection. ;)

Clam seems to be stepping up its detection rate thanks to all the samples it gets from Immunet due to the partnership they now have. I have seen Clam being on of the first 5 av's to detect a new fake av.

Comodo is hit or miss, sometimes it's on of the top 10 to add a threat yet other times its on of the last to add them.

I use Clam on my Mac's and they have a good tradition, but i wouldn't recommend it for windows pc's. However, it seems they are quite highly regarded in Rogue circles as their database is the one most commonly used (without Clam's permission of course) in rogue av's. :welcome:

Hah, I reran the FortiClient installer with the heuristics cracked up and it was beeping all over the place. :welcome: Privatefirewall and FortiClient both seem to have compatibility issues together regarding email protection. FortiClient kept reporting that it's smtp protection(I disabled it previously)was disabled due to compatibility issues.
