Hello. I'm new to this forum, so I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place.

I have a user in Michigan who got nailed with the downloaded PC Antispy malware. I had him download Zalwarebytes' Anti-Malware and it indicated that it removed everything. However, every day since that original infection, he runs the anti-malware program after he boots up and it still finds one registry key infection:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\uninstall (Fake.Dropped.Malware) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Does this mean that he still has some infection to deal with, or is Malwarebytes just not able to completely delete this registry?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Angela

Hi Angela and welcome to Malwarebytes. When you say "user" what do you mean? The user should join this forum and we can help them one on one to see if they are free of malware. Once they join they should follow the directions here http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936. It's impossible to give any sort of intelligent answer with just one line describing malware from who knows were.
