Yourhighness Posted July 13, 2008 ID:22694 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Hey guys, when going on the about section and clicking the 'www.malwarebytes.org' button, it opens IE to browse to the site, although I use FF and it has also been set to my standard browser. Is that on purpose? Nothing major, but I prefer to have only FF running. Having two Netbrowsers run would just clog up memory even more and with this old brat, the 1.5GB Ram get filled fast .Cheers,YoHi
Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted July 13, 2008 Root Admin ID:22710 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware simply sends an execute command to Windows. Why Windows is not choosing your default browser is beyond me!
Yourhighness Posted July 13, 2008 Author ID:22714 Share Posted July 13, 2008 oke oke, blame it on me . Nah its fine. It ll be my screwed M$ then. I wanted to do a reformat for months now. Lets see how many more til I ll end up doing so ^^. Just was rather strange and I figured you would use the standard programming call for such a function .Ta anyway. EliteKiller Posted July 13, 2008 ID:22716 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Yourhighness (heh), I realize that you stated FF is your standard browser, but it couldn't hurt to take a few seconds and look under the FF Options > Advanced > General tab > System Defaults > select "Always check..... " then click Check Now.
Yourhighness Posted July 13, 2008 Author ID:22724 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Yeah. Thats the first thing I tried. This "default" browser thing has been a pain of and on. Might have something to do with Firefox.
Night_Raven Posted July 13, 2008 ID:22731 Share Posted July 13, 2008 You could try SetBrowser. It works flawlessly with Opera on my PC.
EliteKiller Posted July 13, 2008 ID:22735 Share Posted July 13, 2008 There is definitely some good info on forcing your default browser here.
