Malware Browser Popups?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section or even forum but it's been bugging me.

I had this problem earlier near the beginning of December, but this time it's not that serious.

I'll give you guys the full story.

About 3 days ago, I had one of the rogue viruses where it disguises itself as an antivirus and says it's scanning your computer.

I got rid of it by scanning with Malwarebytes and Avira about 2-3times.

But on both of them Malwarebytes and Avira, said there was like 1-3 things they couldn't remove.

I was thinking this maybe related to my problem?

Whenever I use Mozilla Firefox now, I might go to a page, such as Facebook, and then another page will open either in another tab or window. But mostly it opens in another tab. The page it opens up to isn't really anything bad. Sometimes it's something about jobs or a search engine. But it's getting quite annoying.

I was wondering if it's a virus/malware?

If you are wondering too, Malwarebytes and Avira works fine.

Along with my computer but the popups are annoying, and maybe relating to my virus?

Sorry again if this is the wrong place to put it.

Last time I had the same problem with the popups but that time, Malwarebytes wouldn't open. This time it does.

If you still have files on your computer that Malwarebytes and Avira cannot remove, then it's likely that the files are being protected by a nasty infection called a 'rootkit'. The experts here will give you advice on how to remove all malware from your computer.

I was just wondering, do you think system restoring to 1-2 days before this happen could get rid of the problem?

Not saying that I would but as an alternative.

Please do NOT do a system restore.

I have seen computers that have been rendered un-bootable by performing a System Restore with malware still present on the machine, so I would definitely NOT recommend that course of action. If you happened to make your computer un-bootable, it would greatly hinder the experts who will be advising you on how to remove the malware.
