Internet Explorer won't work

Please Help!!! I've just used Mbam to remove gaopdxserv.sys and now IE8 will not open. I get a brief hourglass and nothing opens. OE still works and internet connection shows good. All other programs work OK. I installed a brand new version of Firefox (never been used on this machine before) and it does the same thing. Please help...system restore points are all gone...I do not want to format. Thanks to any who can assist!

Welcome to Malwarebytes! Make sure your IE is not set to off-line If so, switch it to on-line mode Also check & see that you are using no proxy And your Lan settings are set on Auto detect. Check that for starters and please post back with your results..regards..
