KitKat Posted October 16, 2009 ID:144253 Share Posted October 16, 2009 I've recently been infected with the Security Tool virus, and I can't get rid of it. It has turned my desktop black, and I can't fix it. I have tried to install Process Explorer to disable it, and this works, but my desktop does not return like it says it should.The main problem is that Malwarebytes does not install. It tells me that it cannot find the specified files, and the one time I got the program to install and start up, it vanished as soon as I pressed the 'Scan' button. It says to use the desktop icon, but my desktop has been blocked by this virus, and I can't get it to reappear. I have uninstalled and re-installed Malewarebytes several times, but the error messages keep coming up, or it will work, and vanish as soon as I try to scan my computer. They have the tools in that forum to work on your logs, even if you cant start a log or launch one .... don't worry.
