Error Code: 732 (0,0) while trying to update Malewarebytes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

First time post here. I read through your forum on error codes and copy and pasted the Value GlobalUser Offline as instructed into my RUN menu and it shows that this does exist, asking me if I want to overwrite it, which I did not since I did not see that instruction. I did find a Rogue virus of some sort 2 days ago, which I had Malewarebytes fix. I think I may have something hiding in my PC just because of the way it has been running and acting...freezing up, getting many "unresponsive program messages" and motor( fan?) running hard right before it freezes. I don't think this error code that I received is from not having an internet connection, so I am not sure where to go with this. I aborted the last scan I was doing since I wasn't sure if I did have a virus or worm in my PC and the error message came from Malewarebytes if by doing so I would enable it to spread into my system.

Thanks and I will await your reply.

Welcome to Malwarebytes! First off, please open Internet Explorer (must be IE, not FireFox or Chrome or any other browser) and click on the Tools button and make sure there is no check next to Work Offline. If there is, uncheck it and try updating MBAM again. If that's not the issue or it doesn't fix it, then please verify that you can connect to the internet and check to make sure your firewall isn't blocking mbam.exe from connecting to the internet. Make sure your not using a proxy setting, and your LAN settings are set to Auto.

Please let us know how it goes

Hi Yardbird,

I did as you said and did not find any check marks next to Work Offline in IE tools, however, I did have it checked in my Clear Browsing tool that automatically comes up when I close FoxFire. I did uncheck that and went to the update and it updated without any Error code this time! ;) After performing a full system scan, Malwarebytes found the following: Rogue.Antivirus; Hijack.Connection; Hijack.Regedit and Hijack.Taskmanager. I do not know what any of this means or not sure how it is getting in...but I did remove it and hopefully that takes care of the way the PC was running that I spoke of in my post. I do share my PC with one person, so not sure if they are acquiring these "infections?" Any insight you can shed on this to prevent it in the future would be so appreciated. Thank you for your help! ;)

Please follow these instructions to get you fixed up:

follow these instructions & post it in the HiJackLog Forum please

Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in green

If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.

  1. Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now?
  2. If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs
  3. When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested.

  • Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
  • Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
  • Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
  • If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
  • Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
  • There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review

NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.
