RogueRemover Update Problems

Hello, first of all thanks for the awesome software that you guys provide.

I've been trying to use RogueRemover but cannot use the Update feature. I get the following error: "An error occurred in function UpdateExists (2) Error updating. Please report this error to the RogueRemover support team"

I get this error in the newest versions of both the Free and PRO versions. Everything is fine with my Internet connection (permanent cable broadband connection) and my firewall is not the problem. I have no problem using the update feature in your Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware software.

I get the error immediately after clicking "Check for updates" and it is clear that it doesn't actually try to make an Internet connection.

For reference, I am using Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x86 with 1GB of RAM. If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

The firewall is definitely not the problem. I've already created an exception for RogueRemover to allow access to the Internet. I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work, but to no avail.

The thing that gets me is that the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program have absolutely no problems updating, so I wonder if the programmers use a different method of accessing the Internet with the different software.

I wish there was a manual update file available for download for users who can't get the Update feature to work.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I will get that error if RRP trys updating before I'm actually connected. When there is an update available and I just boot up, with my wireless I will get that error. If I try again after I see I am connected then I get the update just fine. I have gotten that error also when I tried to update and there were none to be had.

Have you never been able to update or it is a come and go thing? You might try a reinstall too.

Elistas. You are one smart cookie to catch that we do in fact use different methods of updating in both programs :D. I receive a few of these questions a day. I usually send this e-mail to users.

This error occurs when you are not able to establish a connection to our server. Please try the following.

1. Disable your firewall.

2. Disable your proxy server.

3. Make sure you are connected to the Internet.

Let me know how it goes,

Well, I have a permanent connection and even if it's been on for hours I get the error. There has not been a single time when I didn't get that error. I've tried re-installing to no avail, either. I wonder if this could be a Vista thing. I'm going to install an XP partition and see if I get the same problem.

Hey there, thanks for the help. I'm actually a programmer myself so it was pretty clear to me the differences between the software.

Thanks for the links to the manual downloads, that'll come in handy until I/We can figure this out.

Thanks again,

I still haven't been able to get the Update to work, but I'm hoping I'll have more answers once I get an Windows XP box up and running. I've been delayed because of some projects I'm currently working on, but I'll post here once it's ready to let you know if it's a problem with Vista or not.

Thanks a lot for the links to the manual updates for RR, but I have one suggestion. You should post the links for the manual updates either on the main page or the main RR page. (Or if they already are, I must be blind!) :D

Thanks again,
