Web protection suddenly disabled with no apparent reason

Recommended Posts

Web protection on my Malwarebytes (version 3.0.6.1469) will sometimes be completely disabled. It happens suddenly and with no apparent connection with other actions performed on my Windows 10 system.

When that happens, I usually close Malwarebytes and run it as system Administrator (right click, run as Administrator). That action has always solved the problem for me: when ran under administrator privilege, Malwarebytes will activate web protection with no issues.

But today, for the first time, even when running Malwarebytes as administrator, I came accross the same problem: it wouldn't start web protection.

Is there something I can do? Are there any tests I should run to try to determine if I have some sort of bad program blocking Malwarebytes from running from times to times?

Thank you.
