Post-Infection Issues

Recommended Posts

A poor decision led my computer (Windows 10) to get absolutely swarmed with malware the other day; a couple hours later I had been able to get most of removed (using MB as well as RogueKiller). However, ever since my computer has been plagued with minor issues not present before the "incident" - namely intense "Not Responding" windows flickering, several Steam games are crashing on startup, still getting a MB blocker notification for "zombienews," etc. Malware scans are picking up nothing.

I am worried that this is a result of come collateral damage to system files. What is the best course of action to take to fix this?

Hello and :welcome: :

It sound as if you are still infected or damaged from the infection.

We are not permitted to review scan logs or work on possible malware-related issues here in this section of the forum.

Such work is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.

It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.

A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue - the helper will guide you through scanning, cleanup and repair.

Thanks,
