mastermick Posted October 25, 2014 ID:896095 Share Posted October 25, 2014 Hello and this is my first post. I have had A.M.B installed on various laptops over the last few years and been very pleased with it's operation. About two years ago I bought a new laptop with windows 8.1 and installed A.M.B with no problems at all.All of a sudden in the last few months some issues have developed. 1- I used to scan an individual file which I downloaded online.I therefore went to my download folder and right clicked the file and scanned the file with A.M.B,no worries. But now when I do it the console comes up and no scan of file occurs. It just sits there(console) onscreen instead of flipping over to scan.So what I have to do is start my A.M.B console and go to custom scan and find the file in my downloads folder which seems to take longer than the right click folder scan method? 2- When I go to the console to custom scan an individual file it scans the file but sometimes the console vanishes from my bottom task bar.I then have to go and start up the console again to see the continuation of the scan or the completion with green tick or warning of file scanned. All together A.M.B seems to become unresponsive (error which I sometimes get) and it is really frustrating.I have uninstalled A.M.B and re-installed but to no joy of solving this annoyance.I think it could possibly be down to windows 8.1 and updates but not sure.I am also 64 bit. Anyway thanks for reading and lots of respect for this great software. Mick PS: Another problem is when I scan a file from starting at the console it asks me now and again to update, which I did as part of my routine about 2 minutes before? Thanks again!!!! I have performed the uninstall with the MBAM clean removal tool and reinstalled.I also added exclusions to my AV.This seems to have solved the problem.I can now right click an individual file and it scans that file, which I prefer! Thanks for your help and advice.Once again I have discovered a great site with helpful people, just like a couple of years ago with PC Help Forum who are similiar and very helpful if you have pc issues. http://www.pchelpforum.com/ Thanks again and loads of respect from me!!!!
