Help with cgminer

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

First of I'm using Anti malwarebytes version 1.75

Today I wanted to install cgminer from http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/. The newest version for windows. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

After the download was completed first I checked it with Norton witch say it was okay.

Next I scanned the file with Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes says it was a trojan.

After this discorvery I searched the web for similar problems.

Some people say it was an false positive other says it is a real trojan.

What should I do? and if it is a false postive maybe it  is an idea to change that in the database.

This will be renamed to PUP. Optional.Cgminer in the next database update.

It can safely be set to ignore if its something you installed on purpose.

Problem is malware uses this program to run on peoples machines without their knowledge.

PUP Mean potentially unwanted program.

In the future false positive reports belong in this forum.
