It (the Router) can provide just wired access or wired and wireless access. Not only will you be able to use multiple computing devices (Tablets, traditional computers, smart TVs, smarts DVD players, Smart Phones, etc) to access the Internet but you can remove the Firewall application from the PC. By rem removing the Firewall application and getting a NAT Router or a NAT Router with a Full Firewall implementation you will save resources on the PC for what YOU want to do and you will protect your PC WITHOUT getting annoying, whining, confusing and wasteful messages. Look at it this way. You want to protect your home (computer). Which is better, keeping people out of your property at the perimeter of said property or allowing them to enter your property (LAN) and loom through your windows ? The idea to to move the protection to the perimeter's edge so the intruders can't even get on the property. Here a question. I asked "...do they charge you a monthly rental for the Cable Modem ?" Does Fibertel charge you an additional fee to "rent" the Cable Modem ?
