white screen virus

Recommended Posts

hello.

My computer (windows vista) is currently infected with the virus that causes the white screen after I logon. When I try to open windows in safe mode it automatically closes and goes into normal start up mode. I read the previous forums about how to fix this and was going to begin by downloading the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and follow the directions after that.

However, when I open the bios and press f8, in my advanced boot options there is no "repair your computer" menu item.

my options are as follows:

----------

safe mode

safe mode with Networking

Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Enable Boot Logging

Enable low-resolution video

Last Known good configuration (advanced)

Directory Services restore mode

debugging mode

Disable automatic restart on system failure

Disable driver signature enforcement.

start windows normally

-------

I have previously tried to use the method of restoring my computer to a previous working day but I have no restore points.

I also do not have a windows installation disc either.

Can someone please help me get rid of this virus? Thanks in advance!

Thanks

This should work if you have a good system restore point:

You should be able to do this:

Step 1: Use F8 to Boot to SafeMode With Command Prompt

Step 2: Type the word "explorer" in black screen

Step 3: Then Navigate to:

Win Vista/Seven: C:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe and press Enter (double click rstrui.exe)

Step 4: Restore Computer to Date you know you were virus free

Step 5: Run Malwarebytes

Let me know, MrC
