Searchnu/406 - me too

[caseycm2012]

It appears that removal of the searchnu virus is crafted individually by what is present on the PC, right? I've attached the Hijackthis log. Please let me know if more logs or information is required. I've had this for quite a while, but it doesn't seem to redirect my searching but I can't change the homepage setting to any other URL. Logs will be closed if you haven't replied within 3 days

Please don't attach the scans / logs for these tools, use "copy/paste".

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Please run a new MBAM scan being sure to update before scanning.

Post the scan results

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I'm not sure why you put in red not to attach files as I copy and pasted in the Hijack this log. As for running it without direction, I did read in forums how to do it and how not to click on anything like Analyze, or any other button. I merely copied the log in. In my first append, I thought I described the problem; that is, My home page setting is Searchnu for Mozilla Firefox (and probably for IE too, but I don't use that). Attempts to change it back to yahoo.com result in message that searchnu has prevented the change. When opening new tabs, no home page of any sort is is connected, which is how it worked before the infection. Searchnu is not redirecting to anything when other URLs are entered and I have not problems searching with Google. I do see when I first bring up the browser that searchnu is connecting to Google Analysis, which I imagine is tracking my activity in some way.
