Antivirus Problem

I have an interesting problem I just noticed in the Windows Security Center. First, it gave me a message saying that "Paladin Antivirus reports that it may be out of date. Paladin Antivirus has not provided Security Center with a program to fix this issue." I'm very certain that I had deleted Paladin Antivirus using Malwarebytes a year or two ago and I think this might be blocking my antivirus programs from preventing any viruses from downloading to my computer (I had to remove AV Security 2012 several times). I have run several scans and all of them say my computer is clean.

Also, I can't open Windows Defender as I get the error message "Application failed to initialize:0x80070006. The handle is invalid."

It looks as if you have an open thread in the malware removal section?

Is this the same computer?

If so, in order to minimize confusion and duplication, it would be best to stay with your other topic there, until negster22 gives you the "all clear" from a malware standpoint.

Then, if there are other, non-infection issues with the computer, your helper may refer you back here, as needed.
