Error when setting options in Protection tab

Recommended Posts

Downloaded and paid for Malwarebytes v1.33 with the most recent updates. When I click on the check box for "Check for updates automatically at" I get the following error.

IPersistFile::Save, error code 0X80041315

I also get the same error if I click on the "Run quick scan automatically at" check box.

I've never had this error on this Laptop before loading on Malwarebytes v1.33. Google does not having anything on the message.

What version of Windows are you running, and what other security software do you have installed?

I'm running Vista Enterprise w/service pack 1

2 gig memory

HP dv6500t cto laptop

McAfee Security Center provided free by Comcast

Microsoft Defender

A Malwarbytes support person responded to my support question with a message telling me to use that utility listed in this forum. I've now ran the utility 3 times and still have the error message. I also set Malwarebytes to automatically check for updates and then run a scan at 13:00 hrs today.....It did neither. As of now I'm thinking I do not have real-time protection.

Vista Enterprise or Vista Business? Also, is it x86 or x64?

Who are you working with on the support system, Arthur or Tom?

It appears that the problem has been fixed. Tom asked me to check my task scheduler and make sure it's running. The task scheduler was not running, nor were any of the dependencies associated with the task scheduler. Once I turned everything on I was able to set the protection times without getting the errors and they ran at their designated times.
