  1. The STOP screen has shown, it says: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x86F4EAC0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000) I don't believe I did any scans or anything but I know that it was severely infected with a number of things and it's memory was nearly full. And none of the safe modes are working either.
  2. My desktop PC (running Windows XP) keeps rebooting itself whenever I start it up. It starts up with the whole 'would you like to start in safe mode or start windows normally' screen as well. Then it gets to the load screen where it says windows XP with the blue load bar underneath then it suddenly restarts itself again. I scanned the hardware with Ultimate Boot CD and it said that there were no errors found after a full scan. Apparently it might be a malware related issue.
  3. I seem to be a magnet for technology malfunctioning around me!!! I would really appreciate some help with this thanks!!!!

  5. Quick question, what is xPUD because I have that on a disk and that works but I'm not sure if that will be any use at all?
  6. The same thing happens as when I choose HDD from the menu, the underscore blinks a few times in the top left corner then it just stays on the black screen.
  7. I've found 2 disks that came with it: a product recovery DVD-ROM, and a tools and utilities CD-ROM. I've tried the tolls and utilities CD but nothing happened, I don't really want to use the product recovery DVD until I've tried everything possible to fix the problem. is there a way to run diagnostics without a disk? Would the disk have come with the laptop?
  8. So does that mean there could be a way of tricking the computer back into thinking there's an operating system on the hard drive or will I need to reinstall the OS?
  9. It looks like it's about to start up when I choose the first option. It starts off with the black screen with the underscore blinking in the top left corner but then nothing happens it just stays on the black screen. I don't get any other error messages besides the boot menu.

  11. Hi guys, I've suddenly had a problem crop up with my laptop. It's a fairly old Toshiba laptop which is running on Windows XP. Apparently there is a .dll file that is missing which is causing the problem, but when I start it up a boot menu comes up: Boot Menu. I would like to fix this problem pretty swiftly please so any help will be greatly appreciated thanks! 1. +HDD 2. CD/DVD 3. FDD 4. LAN <Enter Setup>
  12. It appears to be running stable now, yay! Thank you for all your help it was nice working with you, you've been a great help.
  13. I've got to be honest I wouldn't have a clue why it happened but I have had a lot of pop ups telling me that there's not much space on the hard drive and I probably have thousands of files saved on it. But it just seemed to happen, no warnings, nothing. Since downloading a new antvirus programme security has been tighter as well, so who knows. But it was just my luck that it happened when I needed desperatly, lol!
  14. So what would've cause this to happen then? Would it be the fact that there's too much memory being used up on the hard drive?
  15. IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  21. I'm working with an XP computer. As I started it up it came up with the message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM It have to have a 32 in it didn't it. When I start it up I don't have an option to start it in Safe Mode by the way. But I have Recovery Console if that's any use? Any help will be much appreciated, thanks!
