Thanks for the offer. For several years I have used HeyPCGuy for remote, dialup assistance, but he has now gone on to other pastures. I have signed on to another remote service and they have worked with me today to fix it. There is no need for anything further on your part. You can close this thread as it is now "historical data".

I guess that I owe you an apology, but I am not quite sure why. On the Internet this crap is call Malware and that sounds suspiciously like what you say that you are about. I will go away and find someone who wants to help me with this.

i am not sure why I seem to be doing your work when I am not a techie and it takes me forever to do what you asked. The files that I submitted did not seem to me to accomplish anything as none of the searches found anything. But is real and it is there. There are several lengthy and complicated entries on the Internet about how to find and eliminate this malware, but the level of expertise required is above my pay grade.

This Malware blocks browser searches. Malwarebytes does not seem to find/eliminate it.

MWB talked me into installing ad blocking. It is causing problems when using USNEWS website, but nowhere can I find instructions for removing this feature.

It is a genuine PITA when your protection software guys can't get their stuff together!!! Chrome is functionally dead because of Browser Guard. I followed the instructions to download the repair tool and ran it. It took forever and then had me reboot and then reinstall Malwarebytes. Not only didn't fix anything, I am now having to use another browser to get any response whatever. Unless someone can tell me how to disable/uninstall the Browser Guard function I am going to uninstall the entire program. Who needs this much grief???
