  1. Hello, Yesterday I was using a website that uses Adobe Flash to play a browser game, and my Norton Security scanner blocked a potential threat from being downloaded. I subsequently disabled flash and exited out of the website, then did a full system scan with Malwarebytes. Nothing came up on the scan, but I read online that antivirus cannot detect anything that is downloaded through a vulnerability. Should I be worried about anything else that could have been downloaded without my knowledge since I was on the website for a long time? Thanks. Here's the detection from the other day:
  2. Hi, sorry for the late reply, I got very busy this this week... I do believe something may be blocking a fan, the "whirring" sound seems to be coming from the right side.
  3. Chrome seems normal now, but my computer's fan seems like it's working hard even though my cpu usage isn't that high. I made a post about this problem a while ago but it resolved on it's own until now...

  5. Hello! Several minutes ago I opened my laptop to find that Google Chrome mysteriously closed all my tabs and opened several new windows that all had the same website being displayed. I did a scan with Malwarebytes and it detected some User Data files as PUPs- not quite sure if I should quarantine them or not because they seem pretty important. Does anyone know what's going on? As far as I know, I haven't gone on any suspicious websites at all in the past several months. Thanks! chromescan.txt
  6. I can definitely hear the fan moving when my system gets warm. My notebook vibrates very slightly when the fan is in use, but I can only feel it when I touch the notebook.
  7. My laptop is an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro 15.6’’ and Im using it on a hard flat surface.
  8. I did this last night but my computer is still running hot...
  9. Hello, My gaming laptop has been overheating constantly and always shuts down randomly because of this. The task manager shows that it only uses 10 percent CPU, but the fan sounds like it’s working harder than it should. This only seems to happen on my main account and not on my admin account. Is there any way to fix this?
  10. The computer seems to be running normally now, it's no longer shutting down on its own, the cpu usage is 10% less than it was before, and the fan isn't working as hard to cool my computer down. I think my computer is back to normal now, but I'll have to see how it holds up when I'm gaming. Thank you so much for the help!

  13. Disregard my previous post, my laptop suddenly changed it to 100% and restarted
  14. Hi Ron, I ran the repair with FRST64 and the fixlist and restarted my computer to fix the drives, but my computer is stuck at “Scanning and repairing drive (C:)” and it’s only at 14%. It’s been like this for 30 minutes now. What should I do?
  15. I restarted my commbst-grab-results.zipputer and it was able to reboot fine. I gathered logs from the support tool, they're attached below:
  16. Should I just exit out of the support tool and restart it even though it hasn't finished the repair?
  17. I accidentally clicked Start Repair without thinking (I'm very impulsive) and now it's stuck on Running Repair Process I've also noticed that the actual Malwarebytes application has disappeared from my laptop and I have no idea where it went... should I be alarmed?
  18. Thanks for the reply! I followed these directions in a past post I made about the infection and they said that there were no traces of infection at all, which is why I'm a little frustrated with my computer acting strange... should I do another farbar scan just to make sure nothing happened in the past few months?
  19. Also, I forgot to mention that the laptop randomly shuts down at times, which is really inconvenient especially when I'm working.
  20. Hello, A while back I accidentally installed malware on my computer but I eventually wiped it off of my computer with no traces of it (as far as I know). However, I don't think my computer has ever recovered. After the infection, its cpu usage has always been incredibly high and the fan sounds like it's working hard to keep it from overheating. Not only that, but it can get a little laggy at times and overheats way more now when I play games (I'm using a gaming laptop). Whenever I do scans malwarebytes and adwcleaner does not pick up anything anymore, I moved all of the non OS files to my
  21. Hi Ron, Malwarebytes removed some remaining registry keys from the viruses the other day. There's one that I'll have to remove manually but I think I can do it by changing the permissions. I believe that the viruses may have damaged my computer though- it seems to be working harder than normal and is slightly slower, especially when I use a web browser like Chrome. I'll probably do a repair this weekend. Thanks!
  22. I saw them while I was searching through my registry to see if there was anything left over from the scans. I just assumed that they were part of the infection because they had the same names as the programs\files that were detected as trojans and riskware by malwarebytes and other scans. How can you tell if there’s a program protecting those keys?
