  1. also: I should note that, once I click "Remove from chrome" when it initially tells me about the extension being added when I do a fresh install of chrome, I experience no malicious stuff. I do not get any sort of rerouting to other pages, nothing like that. The only thing I'm experiencing is whenever I reinstall Chrome, chrome notifies me that there was an extension added by a program on my computer as seen in the photo in my original post: https://imgur.com/a/GZqAq1N
  2. hello aura. here are the files you have asked for. like I said in my post, I don't believe I have malware. the user AdvancedLogs on this forum looked over my logs last week regarding something else, and said everything was fine. I run scans regularly and nothing gets picked up. I uninstalled the "Ace Stream" program months ago, and it's a widely popular program to watch sports streams. Just wondering what's causing the Ace Stream "Ace Script" extension that can be seen here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ace-script/mjbepbhonbojpoaenhckjocchgfiaofo to be installed on my computer. "another program on your computer added an extension " makes it sound like I still have Ace Stream installed.. but I do not. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  3. A few months ago, I installed Ace Stream to watch the NBA finals. After I watched, I uninstalled it. Didn't notice anything wrong, or anything like that. just didn't want it anymore. I remember when installing it asked me to allow the chrome extension "Ace Script" and I hit no. I reinstalled chrome just now because it just felt slow kinda, and after a fresh install, it shows this: https://imgur.com/a/GZqAq1N I'm shocked because I completely forgot about this, yet even after a fresh install it shows it. I hit remove, but as the image says, it says another program on my computer added this extension. I don't have ace stream on my computer anymore and haven't had it for at least 2 months. I tend to run scans on my computer weekly, and nothing has come up as a virus/malware. and I had the user "AdvancedLogs" on this forum check out another issue I had recently that turned out to be nothing, and he had me send over logs and everything and he didn't see anything wrong, and I haven't touched anything to dow ith Ace Stream since June. anyone know how I can get to the bottom of what is causing this?
  4. Sorry if this isn't the right spot to post this, if it isn't feel free to move it please. i was going through my nvidia geforce experience settings, and had to change the location of my recordings to a different folder. In the nvidia program, it shows this: at first, when i went to my C drive, i didn't see that folder that's highlighted in Green in the image i posted. I had to go to my folder options and uncheck "hide protected operating system files", i just thought it was weird that it shows the folder in the nvidia directory and not my own C drive. so after i unchecked "hide protected operating system files" i could now see the folder in my C drive, and inside it is "install.dat" and i uploaded "install.dat" to virustotal and it came back clean, i also scanned with malwarebytes and it came back clean, just never seen it before, kinda curious as to what it is. googling "82ace7d6-0197-474d-bf4b-a2043e72329b" has brought up posts about malware, but im not sure if its specifically that folder. i don't think i have malware, i tend to run scans every so often and they always come back clean. just wondering what this folder exactly is because i'mm curious. if anyone can shed some light on it, it'd be greatly appreciated.
