Well, Safe Mode was no joy.  Same "Error while deleting key" and "Access is denied" messages. 
Does Security Center have Tamper Protection?

Yes, I casually already looked in the registry for Emsisoft.  

Now, I used Find.

Um, I don't have  Emsisoft Anti-Malware installed.  Where might mb-check be picking up  Emsisoft Anti-Malware?
