  1. BTW, To add to the previous note, while not a professional in the security area, have 24 years of experience as a UNIX/Linux/OpenBSD,Win software architect, toolsmith, and QA Manager/Architect and Malwarebytes output on this topic are drastically more professional then IObit, and I do expect IObit to lose this battle, although probably not the war - in that they will remain in business.
  2. On a tangent, but still apropos IMO: I used Malwarebytes freeware, along with other products for some years. I got hit hard by infections in the spring I could not remove, and being busy like we are all are, decided the slick one button interface of IObit was worth a yearly subscription. Forward to Oct 29, 2009, when I downloaded the latest 360 update. A toolbar I did not ask for (a well known adware "Conduit"), and could not refuse install of, and not remove was "gifted" to me. At first IObit's help desk and the product web site treated me like a clueless newbie. I explained that I tried the IObit instructions, Firefox instructions, regedit, all to no avail. Finally, after pursuing them with over 30 emails/posts go their attention enoughfor them to give me the location of the directory/Key that I had to delete to rid myself of it. I also found a log which showed the ~25 attempts I made to remove the toolbar. To me its beyond ironic that as a paying customer I would be infected with a hijacker (changed which google I used, and overrode almost all of my custom Firefox settings), that recorded and sent all my keystrokes to a a vendor that IObit split the profits from this "marriage". It is with little sense of wonder that just as I wrapped up my battle with IObit that this whole stolen intellectual property issue has arisen. I have removed all my IObit infections, I have gotten a pro rated refund from my credit card company, and will be buying the full version of Malwarebytes within a day or two. W
