I'm very paranoid about malware and related matters. I have recently been paranoid about DNS Changers and I have recently experienced small signs of such an issue.
When I enter my IP address in firefox in order to look up my DNS Server on the website of my ISP, I get a different one from when I look for my DNS Server on my command prompt. When I look via my command prompt, I see two servers. What is partly peculiar is the fact that one of those servers listed there is just my IP address. I don't know where the other one came from; I also don't know why the servers are different when I look it up on my command prompt or my ISP's website.
Summary: ISP's website says my DNS is A. The command prompt says it is B (which is just my IP address) and C (unknown). Is this a sign of a DNS changer? (If this changes anything: I didn't set up my internet and I have an ethernet connection)
Perhaps some of you might be facepalming while reading this but I have no experience with anything related to these kinds of matters. (I also connect to the internet via ethernet if that changes anything). I have just been concerned with the possibility of a DNS changer. Please don't respond sarcastically as I just want to learn more on this topic. Thank you for understanding and taking your time to read this message.
