  1. What really can help is using WOT, or using (free) software like Spywareblaster.

This will also help prevent infections. Obviously, Malwarebytes protection module will be a very good help.

You can also use hpHosts file.

Googling anything innocent may always turn out to something unexpectedly, so:

    - train the teachers some basics of security (don't click anything that pops up, eg)

    - use layered security

    - be sure to have the latest updates of both your operating system and antivirus-protection.

Hope this helps a bit ;)

  2. As a new user, i just recently purchased the software and 20 minutes later i removed from my system. It is too agressive. It started to block a common website megaupload from downloading any files. This needs to change right away. Two new tabs need to be added to the software, the first in dealing with blocked websites with an option to allow or disallow and the second of the ability to be aggressive to an option to be very easy going. I will wait a couple of days for a reply. If this cant be implemented right away then i will want a refund, i think this is fair.

Dear, these pop-ups might be from ads on the mega-upload site as well.

I suggest you place a post in the False Positives subforum.

  3. Hi Blaze -

Ad-Aware got bigger after they added the malware scans - It was not in the older versions - I was surprised at SpyBot , but it only equals Iobit -

We still pass Bit by 5 times the downloads - Pity the poor people when they try to un install - Without the latest tool from Fredvires crew it never actually leaves -

Ad-Aware added malware scans ? Whew, didn't know that, thanks for the update :P ! Guess I should check that out ...

I like Spybot from in the good old days though..

  4. Nicely done, Malwarebytes.

Noknojon, I doubt that most people know what happened with IObit, so they just keep downloading it.

Besides, this only displays the downloading, not removing the program, which eventually might happen with IObit's security 360  .

    I didn't expect to be Ad-Aware #2 to be honest ...

  5. I think I might have, as I was getting lots of fake virus detector pop-ups until recently.

Is this on your own computer or on others like your friends, family etc ?

Just always be sure to have strong protection on your computer installed.

Botnets as well as others are still lurking out there, so these attacks might be related to a Conficker or Zeus botnet.

I'm wondering how this will evolve, thanks for posting !

  6. Realtime means it blocks the infections before they reach your computer. Example: Malwarebytes IP protection module.

This also goes for Panda Cloud, for example, or Avira.

The free version of MBAM or SAS do not protect you realtime, but should you've been infected, they can clean it afterwards.

    Winpatrol:

WinPatrol takes snapshot of your critical system resources and alerts you to any changes that may occur without your knowledge.

For example, if malware adds a startup entry, Winpatrol will notify you about this event.

My (personal) suggestion is you use (free) Avira or Panda Cloud, then buy Malwarebytes full version. This will be a powerful combination :) .

Hope this was clear enough :) .

  7. Hi, the way I see it Adware Spyware etc all falls under the term 'Malware'.

Antiviruses like Avira, Kaspersky, Panda, .... Will also protect you against these threats.

You can try SUPERAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes (free). For an extra layer of protection you can buy either MBAM or SAS . (includes realtime protection)

A neat free program that has more of a 'watchdog' function is WinPatrol: http://www.winpatrol.com/

    Hope this helps :) .
