Hello,

Did something change with BrowserGuard in Edge?

I ask as it is no longer shows a blue "M" like it has in the past in edge.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling BrowserGuard and the "M" is now always in white.

It looks like it is working but is only white.

Hello,

Ok I renamed the chrome.exe to chrome1.exe and it started fine.
It did give me the usual popup saying I needed permission and I went ahead with the rename.

I did misread your post and installed bitdefender I read it as "then re-install of bit defender" and thought it was a typo.

But right now I am going to start using edge browser as a chrome replacement.
The reason is Edge has application guard and it runs fine.

The only problem is Chrome and all other programs and browsers run fine.

I guess since I screwed up there is no point continuing.
 

I know before i started current thread/request I had run sfc /scannow, multiple DISM, MRT, and many others.
They all had reported clean system except 1 program reported something.
It was Malwarebytes ADWcleaner and it reports a suspected pup.

Anyways thanks for your help and time I really appreciate it.

Sorry for 2nd reply but did not want to edit last post again.

Was there malware on system or other major issue?

Also which do you suggest to use. My licensed malwarebytes or Bitdefender?

And should I re-enable "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center" as you had me shut it off?

Sorry but I dont understand.

I should rename the chrome shortcuts to chrome1.exe?

Then make new shortcut to google chrome called  Chrome.exe?
Also if shortcuts point to same program how could making new one change anything?

EDIT:  Malwarebytes was not on system during the freezing.
I had installed MBAM as I thought somehow I had malware.

Thanks I did not know that.
At First I thought is was the Memory saver of chrome but I disabled that after reinstall.

I will check the link.

EDIT:  Just Read the story and that could not be main cause.
I have not had Malwarebytes installed on this PC until today when I searched for malware.
My issue was happening with Chrome only with bitdefender installed.
I had to uninstall it to put  Malwarebytes back on to scan.

Hey,

Ok I found that section and I can explain part of it.

Chrome Will freeze on me sometimes and I will have to end process.
That is just one reason why I think I have Malware.
Sometime freeze is for a few seconds and sometimes it can be minutes, or a total Chrome Freeze.
When I had tried to download FRST64 Chrome did a total Freeze so I had to end process.

I ended up using edge to download it after I forced chrome to close.

I did one thing before you responded which was uninstall Bitdefender.

MAlwarebytes worked now and here is its scan.

That was the only way I could get Malwarebytes to work.

Hello,

I think I have malware as Chrome Lags bad and I have Malwareguard installed in it.
I did full remove of Chrome and Deleted its folders and did Fresh Install a few weeks ago and it still lags bad.
I see in Taskmanager under chrome I see CMD and Conhost are open almost always.

Malwarebytes wont open and the repair program freezes and then crashes.

I had disabled my paid protection due to conflict with Bitdefender.
So I installed Malwarebytes Free but it wont open or wont run thou shows in taskmanager.

My Frst64 Data is attached .

 

Help Would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I am.

Thou I am sure that is was not the problem.

The windows events logs never showed errors for either.
 

This install of windows I just reset on monday or so and only have 5 programs installed as rest were removed.
An past scans and checks you guys did for me showed no malware.
Its been almost 2 years of random hanging and freezing.

Almost always while playing various games.
I changed ram just before the reset I did on monday if I recall.

IF you google search for ASRock B450 Steel Legend and Ryzen 5 3600 there are endless posts on same issue.

When I sent ASRock support message it was them who said to flash bios to the latest.
Seems they are aware of the issue.

Also it seems the 550 also has same problem.

But for the 550 shutting off CBS setting fixed it for that board but did not work for the B450.

It seems the B450 Steel Legend and the Ryzen 5 3600 have a big history of causing system freezes.

I have 3 weird questions.

Will updating my BIOS mess with license or should I unlicense before I update BIOS?

Also if I change my CPU to better model (without reinstalling windows) will that screw up licensing or should I unlicense before I switch if i decide to do that in future?

Its happening on all pc's in my house.

All scans show clean using MAlwarebytes, Adwcleaner, MRT, Windows Defender, HitMan Pro (Free onetime scan).

EDIT: For those who need google switch to Google.ca or other as it works fine thou google.com popup continue and total block on google.com

As of several hours ago Malwarebytes on my Windows 10 pro computer is giving popup's every few seconds and is blocking google.com.

It is every browser and I even reset Chrome with same popups from Malwarebytes.

It was fine at 4am but started sometine during the morning after 4am.

 

All scans show no infections using any software I have.
Seems to have no unknow processes or high memory usages.

[Weird Question on issue I have]

Hey Guys & Gals,

 

I have a weird question about google Chrome and websites I visit.

When I go to some sites the web address has a weird text after it.

For example if I go to Aliexpress.com   the web address that shows when I go there is "www.aliexpress.com/?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.0.0.1d14f19cQXtcnJ"

The part after main address changes but always starts with "?spm="  and then all kinds of different info.

I have reset chrome, cleared cache, cleared temp files in %temp%  and then added protection back to browser MAlwareguard, AdBlockPlus and Bitdefender shows up on its own.

I ran Malwarebytes and system is clean, ran ADWCleaner and only thing shown is 5 items I must keep as PUP's.

 

So my question is does the extra info mean I have malware or some other adware?

I know ADWCleaner shows 5 PUPS and I ignore them as I use the programs.

And MAlwarebytes and Bitdefender all scan fine as does one time run of Hitman Pro.

A couple weeks back in your malware section you guys had me runs scans and the system is clean.

Like I said it is the Message Nudge sound that happens at random and the Special Logon's in the event Viewer that are my issue.
