  1. Have updated everything but iTunes; how much of a security risk is it; the last few times I updated it took a week or so to get the thing working right.
  2. The machine is working faster, but still is stuck in a weird pattern: 1. When I restart, I get a prompt to update java. 2. When I restart again, I get a prompt to update Alienware firmware. 3. repeat. Running the Malware scan now.
  3. Ran the ESAT scan. The only thing it found was some adware in an install kit I hadn't run. Right now, things are looking good. But since the machine has been inconsistent when rebooting, I'm going to run some more tests on Monday--I' leaving town for the weekend. Thanks for the help, and I'll keep you updated. 4. Microsoft Safety Scanner run, log attached (msert1.log): Later that evening I rebooted; I again got that prompt about an Alienware firmware update. on a lark, I ran the tool again--it found a different infection (msert2.log).. I plan to start the ESET Online Scan before I go to bed this evening. I'll keep you posted. Thanks, Jim msert1.log msert2.log
  5. My machine has been acting a little wonky... some crashes, slow performance. I'm not sure if it's virus, malware, or just something junking up my registry. After a crash, upon startup I get a prompt to update the firmware on my Alienware mouse, even though I updated the firmware already (That's what makes me think there may just be some junk somewhere). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Addition.txt FRST.txt MBscan.txt
  6. There have been no overt signs of infection, its just slower than normal, so I figured a checkup couldn't hurt. Logs attached below; any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. MWlog.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  7. OK. Here's the fix log. Real-time protection is working again in Mbytes. I also re-ran the FRST scan and attached those logs as well. Thanks, Jim Fixlog.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  8. Here you go. Thanks for all your help. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  9. I was tipped off when I was reviewing my Malwarebytes settings an saw that Web protection and malware protection had been turned off, and could not be turned back on. Can this be addressed by uninstalling/reinstalling Mbytes, or is more required? Typical logs attached below. thanks Addition.txt FRST.txt summary.txt
  10. Was still running when I went to bed. At that point, it said that 514 files were infected. I was finished when I got up--it said that no infections were found. 12. Ran the program for a Quick Scan. During the scan, it identified 12 infected files. But when the scan finished, it said that no infected files were found. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.54, November 2017 (build 5.54.14383.1) Started On Sat Nov 25 12:56:30 2017 Engine: 1.1.14306.0 Signatures: 1.257.0.0 Run Mode: Interactive Graphical Mode Results Summary: ---------------- No infection found.
