Done this, restarted turned on MWb to ensure it's functioning, & it was. Again I have this "Tray Ap" showing in Task View I think there is a problem!

OK, Could I please have some concise instructions. I want just to use MWb once a week to do a scan. I've deleted the scheduled scan from within the scan area of the MWb site. Should I now "quit" MWb from the Tray?

Sorry, just found on the main MWb icon Scan/Scan Schedule, I've deleted the scan that was set, does this stop the auto monthly scan?

So can I turn off this automatic feature, because I just want to run a scan weekly? Do I do it by clicking right on the icon & quitting MWb or does this uninstall?

Porthos, So is Devlin incorrect to say that the free version is running in the background, inferring that it is always functioning?

Now I'm totally confused! I have MWb free I have declined the free trial for premium version You state that MWb is running in the background & I can see by selecting the icon that I have not quited it. So what is it doing whilst running in the background? Hope you can help

Devin, Thanks. The M/W icon is in my Hidden icons within the tray. As I have AVG running as Anti Virus will this clash with MW & give problems rather than benefits?

Devin, I did not think M/W/Bytes was running, if it is what is it doing? I just do a scan every week to ensure no problems & I thought this to be the limit of its activity. I use AVG as Anti Virus Software. Looking in "Task Manager" I note that M/B service is stated, using 8.1mB I have never seen this Tray Application until I installed the latest version 2 days ago, question why? Could you please explain to me what is happening!!

OK, so I've opened up the Computer today, the M/Warebytes Tray Ap white Square still shows in Task View. As stated before I've stopped the trial in my Account, so what is causing this? Also how do I clear it or should I just leave it?

No, I did not reboot. MB3 is not in the Taskbar, it's just on the Desktop, which is fine by me. I'm closing down now so assume when I start up tomorrow the Tray Ap square will not reappear?

Just noticed that when I go into "Task View" the Tray Ap square is still there even after I have been into my Account & selected to end trial. Why is this & how to I "kill" it?

Oh thanks, I understand, you can have program icons in this part of the Task Bar & select the programs from there, correct? I just use the programs that I've set up in the Task Bar, other than the hidden icons in the Tray. So how would I get program icons into the Tray?

OK, but what is Alt-Tab? Is tab a key on keyboard?

Advise please. I've just installed 3.2.2 & this Tray app keeps showing Don't understand Alt+Tab screen would you explain please.? Also I have AVG Anti Virus does this tray App mean Malwarebytes is running all of the time & is there a clash with AVG? If M/Warebytes is running all of the time, how do I stop it?

Kevin, Thanks again, by "working Blind" I meant that I am not a experienced user & get scared on using these tools. Anyway I have run the Antirootkit Beta tool & the result was "No Malware Found" So I will see if this annoying Pop up appears on the next start up (it generally only comes on when I start up)

To start yes I use Malwarebytes as well! I keep, daily, getting a Pop Up stating that AVG Free version needs updating, but I know I have the latest version, 2015.0.5645 I have run Malwarbytes but it has found nothing. I have also run Junkware removal tool & adwarecleaner that found 3 things, two programs containing the word "fighters" that I deleted & another described as:- HKCU\Software\Micrsoft\Windows\Current Version\Internet Setting\[Proxy Override] I'm concerned about deleting this as it mentions Microsoft & I am using windows 8.1 Advise please.

Adam, One last query, if I may. I have a concern on using Delfix, especially as it resets systems settings etc. I used & deleted AdwCleaner & Farbar which I downloaded to desktop by right clicking on the icons, is this not enough? Also these programs do not show in the Control Panel Program list. Sorry to be a pain, but I would rather be careful. Johnooo

PS My only problem with Mozilla for the future is that I have auto update set but I don't think it works Also I can't see where the version number of Mozilla can be found on the Home page

This is what I have done, hope it please you that people take notice:- 1 Have deleted program "Your Software Deals", think this came with "Ashampoo Burning Solutions" hope this still works! 2 Have updated Mozilla from version 32.0.3 to 34.0.5 3 Have Updated T.Bird from 31.2.0 to 31.3.0 4 Have checked "Windows" is up to date, I have automatic update set, & it's OK 5 Java have version 7.71 which is the latest in the 7 range & don't want to update to version 8 so I have left alone. Hope you approve of these actions Thanks for your help.
