I got this moments ago while installing the java update on a 64bit Win7 platform, What many posters seem to have missed is that you would also get this same error message before installing if you had clicked on the java link "For more information on the data we collect, click here," This of course would have also tried to open the default browser, so the error existed BEFORE the update installed. Logic would dictate therefore that the error was in the coding of the installer and not in the installation itself, Some java genius must have dotted his T's and crossed his eyes, so to speak, and put a typo in the command to open the default browser, which by the way was the latest version of Firefox in my case. So far I see no fatal flaws in my machine's performance, but I will run a couple of scans in a moment to make sure I haven't caught something. I thought I'd post this first in case it blows up during the scan. I don't really see this as anything other than a installer error -- yet. RMP
