It says I have version v2012.01.03.04 is this correct?
-
Ok it worked
-
Did it not work because I included spaces (-)?
-
Ok I have my back up disk which has my ID # and my Key # on it. I have tried both after re downloading the new 1.6 version since it terminated after update and neither code will register? I have the paid version. Is it because I didn't run the mbam-clean.exe? Which code do I use to re-register (key or ID?). And which steps should I take? Thanks

Malwarebytes Update = Severe XP issues
maluser replied to Zaire's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Is there any way to revert to the previous version? The one right before the 10mb MB OS update? -
Just wondering if this is a FP or not. Thanks

I'm very familiar with Hijackthis and I posted a log in the hijackthis log section. And yes you have been very helpful so thanks.

I have Rising Antivirus and one of the reasons I got it was because it works so well with malwarebytes. I've never had any conflicts.

Well I'm getting an error message when I first turn on my computer and when I try to enable Mbam's protection module. See pics below Mbam's Icon doesn't show up in the desktop tray anymore either. It also says it's now version 1.41? This all started after it's last update.

Auto Update & Manual Update Will Not Work
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Resolved Malware Removal Logs
Ah Ha!!! Ok I had to do some tweaking with KIS exclusion rules and autoupdates finally started working! For some reason KIS reads the mbamservices differently from version 1.36 to 1.37. Maybe some little minor change in the versions made KIS default exclusion rules block it for some reason even. Boy firewalls sure can be tricky lil buggers. Thanks for all the help AdvancedSetup! Glad you hung in there with me and didn't give up. Had I not been told try the exclusion method I might have never tinkered with those setting at all and I'd still be looking for a solution. Thanks Mbam peeps! -
Auto Update & Manual Update Will Not Work
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Resolved Malware Removal Logs
Well I followed all the steps to a T and reinstalled mbam 1.37 and I'm still getting the same exact update error problem. Just for the heck of it I did all the steps up above a second time but instead I used a mbam 1.36 backup version I had and updates worked fine but only 1 time because it installed version 1.37 then the updates stopped working again. So auto updates worked in my 1.36 version but not the 1.37. -
Auto Update & Manual Update Will Not Work
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Resolved Malware Removal Logs
Sorry I haven't been on my computer for a couple days due to a personal matter. Ok heres all the logs except for RootRepeal because no matter how I tried to download it, even when I tried from another computer it's files are corrupted and won't run. It always finishes at 423 kb instead of it's 430 kb size. It is beta afterall maybe that's why? Offline Update Is this Version newer then mine?
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I've checked all that and posted a hijackthis log in the hijackthis log forum. I'm not sure how to check IE's proxy settings though but they will all be set to default since IE 8 was installed recently. IE is not set to work offline mode. -
Offline Update Is this Version newer then mine?
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
One thing I noticed is my auto update and manual update worked flawlessly until after the 5/26/09 1.37 version that supports 64 bit module came out. And that's the exact same date my updates stopped working Hmmm? -
Well since I'm having no luck so far figuring out why I can't update, I need to at least try the offline update since it's been a couple week's or more since any updates worked. My Mbam database version is Date 5/26/2009 Database Version 2182 The Offline update version is 1.2202.0.0 So I'm assuming that the (2202) is a newer version then my 2182 correct? Thanks
-
I already tried everything in the help files and nothing I tried has made a difference. I think everything else is working with Mbam except the updates. They haven't worked for about a week now, and that was just a couple days after I purchased my version. Hope you can help. log.txt log.txt

Autoupdate & Manual update not working
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I disabled my firewall and mbam still wouldn't update. Everything else works fine no matter if firewall is enabled or not. Nothing freezes so that's not the problem, and everything with mbam has always worked even with it in my firewalls trusted zone. Is there anything else I can try since the only thing left on the help page is to uninstall completely reinstall etc.... and I'd rather try something else before I go through that whole hassle. I double checked my firewall and the only mbam files listed in it are: MBAM.EXE MBAMGUI.EXE MABAMSERVICE.EXE Same as it has always been even when updates were working just fine. I still think it's a windows service that I disabled that caused this because immediately after I disabled some of those services that's when Mbam's auto update and manual update's stopped working. I don't know I'm in your hands so what step do you suggest next? Thanks for the help so far. -
Autoupdate & Manual update not working
maluser replied to maluser's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Internet Explorer is not set to offline mode and is working and connecting fine. Mbam and all files associated with it are in my firewalls trusted zone as they have always been. So something else is the problem. -
I get the same reply from Kaspersky, it's because it is a hidden driver. It's not bad it's just not run as a service or constant so it is installed hidden instead. I tried playing around with the file and in doing so it seems to have something to do with loading Malwarebytes antimalware database I believe. That's just my two cents anyhow

Well I have dialup yeah yeah giggle all you want, but I've got money in my pocket. I average 46kb/s and was that way this morning until I bought Malwarebytes realtime protection. Now I'm averaging 10kb/s or less. Even casual internet browsing is almost useless and unbearable it took more then 30 min. just for me to get through the registry process to sign up to this forum. If this is how much Malwarebytes is going to slow my internet traffic down and stay this way then I'll have to get rid of it by disabling or refund. I don't know if there's a refund policy or not (something I should have checked before buying it doh!) Is there any way to adjust it's values or something, that will still enable realtime protection but speed thing up? Thanks a bunch!
