  1. hxxp://store.steampowered.com/app/630/ is a free game from steam, you do not have to own a steam game to make a account and get this game. This is the second time this year they have given away a free game, a few months ago it was Portal.

    I am giving it ago.

  2. I have just gotten myself a new digi cam (low end but decent enough) and was looking into how to remove the EXIF data as this can give out too much info.

I saw somewhere that irfanview can let you remove this, but I have not seen on the site were (if you need a plug in for it or if the prog itself is enough?)

My Vista does let you "right click-propertys-remove propertys and personal data) (what ever the remove propertys means I don't know, doing this makes a copy of the picture, but im not sure if it affects the quality) so is this enough or will IV remove even more?

    Thanks.

  3. Turning NS off and on shows just how much info is out there, with it off it didn't even bother to tell me how many bits of info I must send out :) I have no idea what a supercookie test is though, mine was "DOM localStorage: Yes, DOM sessionStorage: Yes, IE userData: No"

That is a pretty interesting site!

  4. I noticed a few days ago I have alot of DOS attacks in my router logs, now I have only just found out that the router has logs so I do not know how long this has been going on for.

This is the list after only booting up for a few seconds right now.

    Destination:90.206.105.19,51515 - [DOS]

I know little about DOS attacks but I think I am right in saying that as my log shows them it means they were blocked?

What is all this about and how can I stop it?

    Thanks.

Edited to say I have a black netgear router from my IPS who is sky, apart from that I do don't know much about it.

  5. Hi thanks for the reply's, I would remove them but the uninstall button is grayed out unless I run FF sandboxed and then of course once I restart FF as the changes were made sandboxed they just revert back which is why I was trying to use JavaRa as I presumed it would delete all the left over remnants from all Javas

    Edit

I ran as admin and removed them (which is strange as that means sandboxie runs me auto as admin?) but the toolkit that FF disabled due to vulnerabilities is not showing a uninstall button. Why does JavaRa not remove these?

  6. I have checked add/remove and I only have version 19 for java installed but in the FF ad-on list all previous consoles are still listed.

I tried JavaRa again but now its not working and I can't find it listed in Revo to uninstall it before I try a fresh install :)

  7. I got a "blocked and disabled ad-on" notice from FF today about a java plug in so I decided to finally get round to removing all old copys with JavaRa, I clicked the link hxxp://prm753.bchea.org/software.html which then took me to hxxp://raproducts.org/, I DL's the zip and ran it and if found jre1.6.0 and removed it, then said it had made a log file which would be opened, it was not and nor can I file the file.

Also clicking the "remove older versions" just brings up what it had supposedly removed before, but I have alot of java in my ad-ons which is still there (consoles ect)

    Is JavaRa still supported?

  8. I noticed that my windows patches seem to have a interesting time getting installed when I looked in the event viewer, I got 9 patches on Tuesday and 90-95 entry's in the EV first stating several times that " Windows Servicing identified that package %1(%2) is not applicable for this computer" and then "Servicing has required reboot to complete the operation of setting package %1(%2) into %3(%4) state" all at the same time for each patch which, according to the EV took over 3 hours...!

They all installed fine but looking at the EV that cannot be normal procedure?

  9. I do not see the option to add a PW in the Network connection property's security, I have it set to WPA -personal and TKIP encryption but under that is the Network security key. I do not have my router on 24/7 anyway so I pretty sure I am ok with regards to anyone piggybacking it plus my connection is pretty bad so I doubt anyone could hijack it unless they were in my room :D

  10. Strange, I tried to change it the first time I set it up over three years ago now and it basically blocked me out completely so I had to reset it. I just presumed that as it came with an unique Network key that this was a security measure from Sky? I skimmed the link you posted and its interesting though I don't know why they tell people to change the Network key, I would understand it if it was a common default one like "admin" or "123456789" but it is a jumble of letters that is unique to your set up so no different than you picking one at random really.

  11. @ Lottie, I also have my internet from Sky but I use it wirelessley. I think you would be pretty safe as Sky give you a unique network pass key that you cannot change and so its not like you might have a easy to figure out default password like some providers :)

Plus as they have a useage tool on thier site you could if worried check that to see if it seems to be higher than you would exspect.
