  1. Spybot and Ad-Aware always catch little things
I'd be wiling to bet most of what Ad-Aware & Spybot find are cookies? If so, MBAM does not scan for cookies. They are simple text files and thus cannot harm your computer. We figure it's best to scan for the important stuff as opposed to pad our detection database with text files.

    LOL That's what I meant...only in more detail B)

  2. The only stupid question is one not asked B)

That seems normal to me. Malwarebytes was designed to catch specific infections, and to do it in a specific way.

Spybot and Ad-Aware always catch little things... Malwarebytes wont because it is looking for certain things...kind of like a bounty hunter...It only hunts things it is supposed to. Everything else is a waste of its time :)

  3. Well, i tried one of the many variants of MBAM and it was very weak, so weak in fact i downloaded & installed Avast! FREE Home Ed.

This quickly disposed of the UAC virus and some others i had laying in some obscure archives i had downloaded some time ago.

Avast! gave no problems at all and does a lot more than Malware's MBAM does.

I'll trust professionals more than a ".org" who acts exactly like a ".com" and wants $$$, Malware's website won't even name the place of or people in it's company.

As for affiliate embedding, um sure, wonder why anyone would trust that kind of slick software sales & marketing.

    IMO.

Nosirrah.....can I use language now?! ROFL

    Fight the urge...fight the urge...

  4. IF an expert requests that you post a log in the HJT forums, then it is safe. Only some info may be gathered from the log, such as what profile your logged in under, and stuff like that, but nothing like your IP address and such are generated in the logs. PROBABLY the worst thing someone could gather from logs would be seeing what App's people are using most...and use that knowledge for evil....but that's about it.

NOW, if you do Illegal things on the PC, and use illegal software, then NO, its not safe lol.

Posting the logs helps in many ways, it helps the helper to figure out your problems, and at the same time, provides others that are training with valuable knowledge. :)

ANYONE- Correct me if I'm wrong B)

  5. Above instructions apply for older variants and is a copy/paste from another forum without mentioning credits.

    Original reference

MBAM should detect and remove all latest variants now with the exception of the user.js file present in the Firefox profile folder. The user.js file is not present by default. In this case, the user.js file was added when dealing with Yoogsearch (in Firefox). But the user.js file could already be present before where own preferences were set. More info here.

    NICE CALL MIEKIEMOES!!! :P

Seriously dude, if you want help, you should follow directions...they don't type that stuff up for fun...

  6. TRANSLATION: (I think lol)

HELLO a small problem with Malwarebytes' ANTI-Anti-Malware I have an error code that is 1073. I desired the protection but exactly there is this code that appeared.

    ??Donc voila??

thank you for to help me

    thank you for your responses

    Compliments of www.freetranslations.com :P

  7. I posted my 2 cents to some of the SLOWER guys who commented in the PC mag forums...

    Some people are really dumb....

So how does one get the free version? I followed the links for the free download, installed the software, and let it scan my computer. But when it came time to remove the malware, the software asked be to register, and then on a separate screen, asked me to pay $40. So if there is a truly free, full-functional version, please let us know where it is.

I wonder if this guy even read the title of the program he was running? OBVIOUSLY he was infected PRIOR to his searching, and has been redirected to an improper program...I don't know about you, but If I ever download an unknown program, I usually look to make sure it is really what I downloaded...or if I download something that's called MALWAREBYTES and the installer is titled AV360.exe im not gonna run it..

    some people...lol

  8. that wouldnt be bad...maybe if people are studying under a school or something like that, there could be a rank just for them...that wouldnt be a bad idea at all..then that rank and up can see in the HJT and no one new or not studying can see...

is that a better idea? see, thats what this thread is for :D
