backdoor.bot in msconfig

Please use the developer switch when posting a log you suspect might be for False Positives.

I already did a developer switch and it did not detect Backdoor.Bot. but once I restarted my PC and ran another scan it detected it again. Right now I selected ignore because I don't know what else to do. I truly beleive this is a False/Positive.

also....I've occasionally found trojan.agent in: C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Local Settings\Temp after running browsers...

I use IE 6 updated and Firefox 3.03

It removes ...no problem and does NOT affect the browsers functionality after removal....I assume it another FP or a tracking cookie labled trojan.agent.....FYI here is my Hijack This log:

BTW Snoopfree is a small program that alerts me whenever any program tries hook the keyboard, screen or "can read unknown window" you can Google Snoopfree to check it out if you desire

Suggestion: I noticed MB doesnt scan IN archives....aka .rar, .zip etc make it do that and you got a world class #1 malware scanner

Scanning in safe mode will likely show no infection if you are infected. Your renaming HJT for what reason? Don't scan in safe mode and expect to actually do anything. Most malware doesn't run in Safe Mode and therefore no scan will find it.

HJT is renamed coz the guy that wrote it said to in the readme.txt......and scanning in safe mode is ABSOLUTELY necessary when looking for malware......after scanning in full windows of course. Many types of malware hide in locations that are no longer scannable when in full Windows. But don't take my word for it...there are at least 50 security guru sites that all say the same thing
