trojan.extension.exploit - keeps returning

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I ran a Malwarebytes scan yesterday morning and it found two infected files called "trojan.extension.exploit." After they were removed, I have since run two more Malwarebytes scans, and each time it finds one "trojan.extension.exploit." I also ran SDFix today, which did not find anything

What is this "trojan.extension.exploit", and what kind of security risk does it present? How can I eliminate it entirely?

I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you very much in advance.

I am posting the results of the three Malwarebytes scans (they are in German, but since the report format is always the same, they should be intelligible):

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28

Datenbank Version: 1198

Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3

23.09.2008 10:25:11

mbam-log-2008-09-23 (10-25-11).txt

Scan-Methode: Vollst

This is a bug with foreign languages in the current version of MBAM .

It should be fixed in the next version (5 to 10 days from now) .

Dear Bruce,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. When you say this is a bug with foreign languages, does this mean that my computer is in fact totally free of infections in spite of the recurring "trojan.extension.exploit" message?

Thank you again!

Here you go .

That link is live , you malware is just blocking it .

I have renamed this file already for you .

Dear Bruce,

I just read your second reply after posting my reply - I'm afraid I do not undestand what you wrote. What do you mean by "that link is live, your malware is just blocking it." What is the link you sent me and what should I do with it?

My computer knowledge is relatively minimal, I'm afraid.

Thank you again for your help - I really appreciate it!
