Hello oh learned ones.

I have a thread on the beepling forum. I'm trying to help my even-more-elderly-than-me neighbour out to rid her PC of various viruses.

At the suggestion of one of the users on that other forum, I downloaded and attempted to install Malwarebytes' software this evening. I started the install and the install failed with the following:

c:\program files\malwarebyte.....\mbamext.dll

unable to register the DLL/OBL

create process failed; code 2

chose to ignore just to see what happened and then it failed with the same error for ssubtmr6.dll etcetera etcetera

Does anyone have any ideas what went wrong?
