Safari cannot connect to server.this message appeared after removing adware

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The problem was: failure to replace yahoo by Google search engine.

installed the malwarebytes, found 15 adware threats, Chose quarantine then delete.

Then tried to test and I opened safari to check whether google is the default search engine or no. And I found that I cannot connect to the internet I got always the message “ safari cannot to connect to the server” I tried to open google, facebook or apple support and I failed.. also I connected my macbook to the hotspot instead of my wifi and didn’t work too

so removing or deleting any of the threats is related to this problem?

thanks

Most likely, some adware or malware that was installed made changes to proxy settings. Open System Preferences, then click the Network icon. Next, click the Advanced button. Finally, click the Proxies tab, and remove any proxies set there.

So you should solve it. Otherwise wait for a more precise advice.

I hope I was helpful

Good day

Massimiliano
