Network Settings - Unable to connect to licence Server.

Recommended Posts

I was just working on installing some mods for my game(Skyrim), with Nexus Mod Manager. As I was installing them all of a sudden my PC froze for a moment and then malwarebytes then had a red icon on the logo. I go to check it and it says web protection is turned off so I try turning it back on again then the software froze and it came up with the message ' Unable to contact license server. Check your network settings or contact your system administrator for help.'

On a side note sometimes when I turn my PC on or when I shut down/re-open malwarebytes it doesn't show on the system tray.

If you haven't done so already, please run these two tools and then attach the logs in your next reply:

  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
    1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
    2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
    3. Press the "Scan" button
    4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
      • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions
  • MB-Check
    1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
    2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK"
    3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
      • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
      • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Here exact the same!
I run the MB 3.3.1 premium version with lifetime license:
I suddenly, unexpected got the the warning that Malwarebytes webprotection was disabled. I tried different times to start but no succes. I also got the error:
"Unable to connect to licence Server

"
I restarted laptop more as 10 times, and after few minutes I got the error again.
I finaly de-installed Malwarebytes using the uninstall icon in the startmenu. After uninstall I restarted the system again.
I download a fresh installer from MB website, installed but now I cannot activate my license anymore!!!
So all premium features are disabled now.

Reading here that I'm not the only one with this experience: Malware bytes, what's going on? Please fix, so I can activate my valid license again!

Forgot to tell:
Just before the first trouble started I got a BSOD: my system became very slow and then BSOD. I asume all my 16GB internal memory was eaten.
